Nintendo Direct March 27th Announcement: A Short Overview Of A Huge Direct

Nintendo Direct Introduction:

Firstly, this is not my thoughts on the direct. This is mostly just, as the title says, a short overview of what was announced. Second, I do have an article on my thoughts and will put a link to it for those who haven’t seen it. Now let’s begin.

The Third Parties

This direct was heavy on the third parties sixteen out of twenty-two announcements in total, (If I counted correctly) most of which are pretty good. the total list is:

  • Dragon Quest 1 + 2 HD-2d Remake
  • No sleep for Kaname Dante
  • Raidou Remastered
  • Shadow Labyrinth
  • Patapon 1 + 2
  • Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar
  • Disney Villains Cursed Cafe
  • Witchbrook Holiday
  • Eternal Life of Goldman Holiday
  • Gradius Origins
  • Rift of The Necrodancer
  • Hogh on Life
  • Soma Frontier 2 Remaster
  • Monument Valley 1 and 2
  • Monument Valley 3
  • Everybody’s Golf Hotshots
  • Marvel Cosmic Invasion

Over all I would say it’s a pretty good lineup, a few standouts for me include:

  • Dragon Quest 1 + 2
  • Patapon 1 + 2
  • Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar
  • Rift of the Necrodancer
  • Marvel Cosmic Invasion

On top of those I would say Witchbrook Looks nice.

Nintendo Direct Metroid Prime 4: Beyond

The Nintendo First Parties

There were only four first party game announcements but in my opinion; they were all bangers! These games were:

  • Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
  • Pokemon Legends: Z-A
  • Rhythm Heaven: Groove
  • Tomodatchi Life: Living The Dream

As I said before; I believe all of these games were absolute bangers, some of the best games they could have announced. The only one that doesn’t appeal to me personally is Rhythm Heaven but it appeals to so many other people.

The “Non-Games”

There were three things mentioned in this direct that I would classify as “non-games” and they are as follows:

  • Nintendo Today App
  • Digital Game Sharing
  • Switch 2 Direct (April Second)

The first thing to mention is the one that sticks out to me: game sharing. As I said in my “review” of the direct; I don’t quite understand what this is beyond the obvious, sharing digital games. As such I will be putting a link to the Nintendo info page at the bottom.

The next thing is the Nintendo today app which (again was said in my review) is a Nintendo themed calendar but better. It has events and other things based off of your gaming preferences. I have been using it, and like it.

Last is the April second direct, which I will not go into hear because I have multiple articles planned on the things announced in that direct.

Closing

I Think that this direct was generally a very good direct. Especially since it finally gave us some sort of time frame for Switch 2 but even without that, in my opinion, this was a direct for the history books.
