ST. LOUIS, Mo., July 16, 2026 – The St. Louis Cardinals, in conjunction with Major League Baseball’s league-wide release, today announced its 2027 regular season schedule. The Season Opener is scheduled for Thursday, March 25 at Cincinnati as part of a six-game road trip against the Reds (March 25, 27-28) and Chicago Cubs (March 29-31).

The Cardinals Busch Stadium Home Opener is set for Thursday, April 1 when they will host the Kansas City Royals in the opening game of a three-game series (April 1, 3-4) and six game homestand that will also feature three games against the San Diego Padres (April 5-7).

The club will conclude the regular season at home when they host division rivals Milwaukee (Sept. 20-22) and Pittsburgh (Sept. 24-26).

Interleague Matchups

As part of MLB’s balanced schedule, the Cardinals will host eight American League opponents for eight three-game home series.  In addition to the home opening series with the Royals, St. Louis will host the Minnesota Twins (April 19-21), Toronto Blue Jays (April 23-25), The Athletics (May 11-13), Detroit Tigers (May 21-23), New York Yankees (July 9-11), Los Angeles Angels (August 20-22) and Houston Astros (Sept. 6-8).

The Cardinals will visit the Texas Rangers (April 16-18), Boston Red Sox (April 30-May 2), Chicago White Sox (May 3-5), Tampa Bay Rays (May 14-16), Baltimore Orioles (May 18-20), Seattle Mariners (June (7-9), Kansas City Royals (July 16-18) and Cleveland Guardians (August 16-18),

Division Foes

The Cardinals will face their four National League Central division opponents 13 times each—two series versus each opponent both at home and on the road—for a total of 52 games.  Busch Stadium will host the Cubs for a three-game weekend series on May 28-30 and for a three-game summer weekday series on August 9-11; Milwaukee for four games (May 6-9) and three games during the final homestand (Sept. 20-22); Cincinnati for a three-game weekend series June 18-20 and a four-game series July 26-29; and Pittsburgh in a three-game series (May 31, June 1-2) that opens on Memorial Day, and in the final regular season series (Sept. 24-26).

Monthly Breakdown

The Cardinals are scheduled to play 47 of their 81 home games (98 total games) before the All-Star Break (July 12-15) and will play 27 games at Busch Stadium after August 1, including 15 in September. The team will play 15 home games in March/April, 14 in May, 12 in June, 13 in July, 12 in August, and 15 home games in September.

Holidays/Notable Dates

The club will host five holiday games at Busch Stadium in 2027 on Mother’s Day (May 9 vs. Milwaukee), Memorial Day (May 31 vs. Pittsburgh), Juneteenth (June 19 vs. Cincinnati), Father’s Day (June 20 vs. Cincinnati) and Labor Day (Sept. 6 vs. Houston). The team will play holiday road games on Easter (March 28 at Cincinnati) and Independence Day (July 4 at Chicago Cubs). The Cardinals will play at San Diego on Jackie Robinson Day (April 15), host the Pittsburgh Pirates on Lou Gehrig Day (June 2), and visit the Pittsburgh Pirates on Roberto Clemente Day (Sept. 15).

Longest Stretches

The Cardinals longest homestand of the 2027 campaign consists of two separate nine-game homestands from April 19-28 (Minnesota, Toronto, Atlanta) and Sept. 3-12 (San Francisco, Houston, Philadelphia). The team also has two different road trips consisting of nine games: April 9-18 (San Francisco, San Diego, Texas) and June 4-13 (Colorado, Seattle, Milwaukee). The team’s longest stretch without an off day runs from May 18-June 2 (16 games).
