2021 St. Louis Cardinals Prospect Tracker

As I do every year, I’ve started a composite ranking of St. Louis Cardinals prospects heading into the 2021 season. As other sites release their lists, I’ll update the list below. You’ll see the mean, median, and mode of all the lists added and the players ranked by average ranking. You’ll also see the high and low rankings and how many lists the prospects are on.

My favorite list released was the Cardinal National list; Brian Walton and his crew put in a lot of time scouting and ranking the players. Some player scouting reports are behind a pay wall, but it’s well worth subscribing to the site.

My least favorite list is Pitcher’s List; nothing against what they have done, but they’ve included guys like Kwang Hyun Kim, Andrew Knizner, Ryan Helsley, and Genesis Cabrera who no long really qualify as prospects. You’ll see a lot of these guys only on their list.

Unsurprisingly, Dylan Carlson is #1, but there are a few guys in the next few spots. The general consensus is Nolan Gorman at #2 and Matthew Libertore at #3 (although each received a vote at #7); Ivan Herrera gets a couple of #3 votes, as well one for 2020 draftee Jordan Walker.

The Nyrdcast official list will be published in February. Any other list will be added as I find them.
