Born and raised in Northeast Italy, Mazare is quickly establishing himself in the global music scene. His journey into music began with his father’s extensive record collection, which filled his childhood home with sounds from iconic artists like Pink FloydU2, and Genesis. A pivotal moment came in 2009 when he first heard ‘When Love Takes Over’ by David Guetta, marking the entry of electronic music into his life.

Known for his dynamic artistic approach, Mazare masterfully navigates between heavy-hitting metal-electronic hybrids and more emotional, pop-rock-infused sounds, all while cultivating a dedicated and rapidly expanding fanbase globally. He draws inspiration from various artists, including The ProdigyNoisia, and Bring Me The Horizon

Hailing from Glasgow, Scotland, Newshapes are an alternative rock and post-hardcore band known for blending anthemic melodies, heavy instrumentation and emotionally honest songwriting. Drawing influence from emo and modern rock, the band has steadily built momentum through a string of acclaimed releases and energetic live performances, establishing themselves as one of Scotland’s most promising rising heavy acts.

Ego Death‘ opens with a washed-out, sidechained synth pad beneath a captivating vocal performance from Newshapes frontman Ian Mann. As the tension builds, the track appears destined for a colossal EDM drop, only to swerve into a crushing fusion of metalcore and drum & bass. Frenetic breakbeats collide with the punch of a live acoustic drum kit, creating a seamless blend of electronic precision and rock intensity. ‘Ego Death’ is sure to ensnare fans of Pendulum, blink-182, and Bring Me The Horizon.

Mazare shared the following: “I was looking for the perfect conclusion for this ep, something that would sum up all the sounds, styles and atmospheres I went through with the whole project. That’s how Ego Death was born, a testament to breaking boundaries and going out of your comfort zone.

“And as I was looking for the right band to bring on board for the project, I came across Newshapes and was impressed by their sound and their range. It was an instant match and it’s safe to say I’m beyond happy with how the song turned out, they absolutely killed it!”

Newshapes shared, “When Mazare approached us to collaborate, we instantly knew it was something we wanted to be a part of. We knew Mazare had made a name for himself blending drum & bass with metal and post-hardcore influences; while we’ve always woven drum & bass and electronic elements into our own post-hardcore sound.

“We’re all huge fans of the genre and have even explored it in our own tracks like “reach”, so this felt like the perfect opportunity to fully embrace those influences more than we ever have before. It was such fun and rewarding collaboration, and we think the result feels like a natural and exciting meeting point between our two worlds”.
