Quick hit reviews:

  • Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars: Battleworld #2: The completist in me will finish this, but the reader side says I should just leave it. The “other” Beyonders continue to manipulate Spider-Man (and Human Torch) in this Secret Wars side quest. More heroes and villains randomly show up, some from the original Secret Wars and some just randomly added. It’s not the greatest book, like many stories that are shoehorned into previous events. Grade: D-.
  • Predator vs Wolverine #4: The final issue in the series, and I’m glad it’s not dragging on any more. This might have been the weakest issue, as it attempted 2 flashback stories that really felt rushed and incomplete. the final battle was pretty underwhelming as well. It’s disappointing after the first 3 issues were solid. Grade: D.
  • Timeless #1: Interesting concept. Moon Knight acquires a bunch of superhero tech, preparing Earth for Konshu to take over. Power Man, who opposes him, has gained his own extra abilities and attempts to stop MK from destroying the Earth. There are a few twists in the story. It’s a fun one-shot. Grade: B+
