THE WRECKS Introduce ‘SONDER (Deluxe)’ With Turbulent Alt Pop Single “Things You Make Me Do”
“Made up of a handful of love and loss scores, this LP crosses genres in an inaugural way for The Wrecks’ catalogue. From their previously cemented alt-rock sound on tracks like ‘Dystopia’ and ‘Don’t Be Scared’ to a pop-punk twist on the title track, ‘Sonder’ and ‘I Love This Part,’ Sonder is a perfect display of a band honing in on their matured sound.” – Setlist.fm
“The Wrecks’ mix of ‘don’t quit’ and ‘who cares’ mentality seems to be setting them on the right track.” – Billboard
“While embracing the spirit of creative experimentation, the band’s growth is evident in this long-awaited, genre-bending eleven-track record.” – Ones To Watch
“This is alt-rock on fire. Burn, babies, burn.” – idobi
“Catchy, boisterous, clever.” – Buzzbands.LA

Back And Better Than Ever Tour Starts October 11
SEPTEMBER 30, 2022 (Los Angeles, CA) — “I wrote this album because I had to,” says The Wrecks’ vocalist/producer Nick Anderson on the making of Sonder, the band’s critically-hailed June 2022 sophomore album which will get a Deluxe Edition arriving on October 28, 2022 via Big Noise. In honor of this announcement, the band has released the blustering alt pop single “Things You Make Me Do,” about being in an inescapable one-way relationship. “I was processing a breakup slowly and poorly, and for a while there, the breakup was winning,” Anderson continues. “There was a point when making the album, though, he says the tables turned and the breakup became the inspiration for his creativity to return and make this album that he’s really proud of.
Sonder (Deluxe) collects not only their distinctive witty, frantic genre-bending tracks that made the original album land on Spotify’s Top 10 U.S. Album Charts release week (“Sonder,” “I Love This Part,” “Lone Survivor,” and “Where Are You Now” featuring girlhouse), but also adds bonus content with acoustic and remixed versions of original Sonder songs like “Sonder (Acoustic),” “Normal (Acoustic),” “Lone Survivor (Molly Otto Remix),” “Dystopia (Molly Otto Remix),” as well as a handful of B-Sides.
Highlighting the band’s elevated and triumphal alt-rock, Sonder saw Anderson experimenting with minor keys and calculated lyrics which “opened up [their] writing process. I’d say our lyrics have always been honest and vulnerable, and not only was I able to depend on that narrative compass once again, but I found it taking me to a whole new place this time creatively,” he explains. “Making this album was a very difficult, sleepless journey that took a lot out of me, but each day and night throughout that process, I could see the light at the end of the tunnel,” he exclaims. “But I knew I was onto something; I hadn’t felt this excited or optimistic about releasing a body of work in my entire career.”
Sonder (Deluxe) will be available right as the band are in the midst of their Back And Better Than Ever Tour featuring support from CARR and Arlie. The Back And Better Than Ever Tour follows the band’s wildly successful, 90% sold out, June/July leg and it kicks off with a performance at Sonoma Harvest Festival in Sonoma, CA on October 9 before concluding on November 19 at Majestic Theater in Ventura, CA. In-between, the band will hit cities such as Las Vegas, Detroit, Baltimore, Miami, New Orleans, Houston, San Diego, and more. Tickets and VIP can be found at WeAreTheWrecks.com

Sonder follows the release of the band’s 2016 debut EP We Are The Wrecks(their first single “Favorite Liar” currently has 42 million+ streams on Spotify), their 2018 Panic Vertigo EP, their 2020 Static EP as well as their 2020 debut LP Infinitely Ordinary (58 million+ streams on Spotify).
The Wrecks continue to rack up the massive fan base that has already given their top five singles on Spotify over 80 million listens. Poised for a wide-open road ahead of them, Nick Anderson and The Wrecks continue to charge into the limelight. Not too shabby for a kid from Wellsville, just two hours south of nowhere.
