National Beer Day at Anheuser Busch
Thursday night, the Anheuser Busch Brewery held a special National Beer Day/The Repeal of Prohibition party; the event consisted of a 3 course meal with beer pairings, live music, and beer. This was the warm up for this Saturday’s public Repeal of Prohibition party.

Once dinner was ready, we were treated to a 3 course meal with an explanation of the pairing from Brewmaster Travis Moore. The courses consisted of:
- Budweiser Calypso Greens: Fresh chopped romaine hearts with colorful spring mix topped with crisp Granny Smith apples, tart yet sweet craisins, chopped walnuts and crumbled feta cheese. The mix is then tossed in our Budweiser Creamy Sweet Italian Dressing.
- Michelob Sizzling Sirloin: Choice sirloin strip steak marinated in Michelob Original Lager, garlic steak marinade and topped with traditional spices. Accompanied by fresh green beans highlighted with bacon.
- Faust Double Chocolate Torte: Double chocolate torte infused with Faust Vienna-Style Lager and topped with a chocolate icing. The desert is then drizzled with Faust chocolate sauce and topped with fresh raspberries and garnished with a mint leaf.

The evening ended with more beer, more music, and chatting with others at the event – both invited guests and AB employees.
Saturday’s event is open to the public; tickets are $33 and available here or at the Biergarten. The ticket price includes a commemorative glass, samples of the 3 beers, and the music. Guest are encouraged to wear 1930s attire, and those that do will receive a commemorative 1933 labeled Budweiser bottle.
The event goes from 5:00pm to 10:00pm; the Clydesdales will show up at 7:00 and there will be photo opportunities with them.
If you go, look for Toner and Steve. Also try their current Underground Collection beer – Date Night, a light lager cellared on vanilla beans and cherries; it’s one of their best beers right now.
