MELBOURNE’S HARD ROCKING POWER POP SENSATIONS THE PRIZE RELEASE NEW SINGLE & VIDEO “HAD IT MADE” AHEAD OF SECOND EURO TOUR WITH THE CHATS

SINGLE LAUNCH SUNDAY NOVEMBER 3 AT THE TOTE (MATINEE SHOW)

Melbourne’s fave rave three-guitar rock’n’roll power poppers The Prize have today digitally release the new single & video “Had It Made”, just a month before they head off with their friends the Chats for their second European tour.

The single & video was premiered overnight on East Coast US site Paperface Zine, together with an interview with drummer Nadine Muller. Check it out here – The Prize: “It Sometimes Feels Like We Haven’t Done That Much but Then When You Step Back and Have a Look at the Opportunities We’ve Had and the Things We’ve Got to Experience, I Feel Really Lucky!” (gimmepaperface.com)

“Had It Made” was one of the first songs the Prize wrote, and it’s been a fan favourite since they first started playing out a couple of years ago, around the release of their much loved “Wrong Side of Town” EP, which garnered attention from pop pundits here and abroad.

Featuring bigger guitars and bigger hooks than anything they’ve ever done, “Had it Made” is a taste of the band’s long-awaited debut album which will be released in 2025. And it’s the first Prize recording to feature new bass player Ethan Stahl (formerly of UK band Chubby and the Gang).

The band, which also features guitarist Carey Paterson sharing lead vocals with Nadine, together with guitarists Joseph Imfeld and Austin Haire, will launch “Had It Made” on Sunday November 3rd with a matinee show at The Tote, with special guests Melbourne rockers, Dumb Punts, and new sensations, Gnome.

Since forming in 2021, The Prize has established itself as one of Melbourne’s premier rock and roll outfits. Funneling vocal soaked hooks through a three-guitar onslaught and powerful rhythm section, this unique blend of power pop and rock and roll has earned them notice the world over.

Their debut EP “Wrong Side of Town’ sold out on its first day out and has since become a sought-after release. They’ve since put out a 7-inch single “First Sight” on Antifade Records and Drunken Sailor, as well as a split 7 inch with The Unknowns on Bargain Bin records.

As a premium live act with the tunes to back it up, the band has regularly found themselves opening for legendary groups like the Sunnyboys and Pavement. It all culminated in their first international outing in late 2023 supporting King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and the Murlocs on their European and UK tours with a number of headline dates across Europe and the UK to great acclaim.

They will be heading back to Europe and the UK in November this year as main support for The Chats.

The Prize’s much-anticipated debut album is set to be released in 2025.
