DOOM SCROLL Signs to Flail Records and Shares New Single “Sisyphus”
Colorado folk-punk band DOOM SCROLL has signed with Flail Records and released a new single titled Sisyphus. The track appears on their upcoming 11-track album, Exhausted Dialogue, scheduled for release on October 6. The self-recorded project explores themes of persistent internal and external struggles.
Formed in 2020, the band produced the record independently before it was mixed and mastered by Jason Livermore. To support the release, DOOM SCROLL will embark on a tour across the Midwest, Southeast, and East Coast, including an appearance at FEST in Gainesville, Florida.

Label and Partnerships
The signing with Flail Records marks a new chapter for DOOM SCROLL, joining a roster that includes Bridge City Sinners, Days N Daze, and Escape From The Zoo. Flail Records notes, “Doom Scroll is a band that’s been on our radar for quite a while. When they sent us the new album and told us they were looking for a label, our eyes bulged out of their sockets like a cartoon frog.” The label adds, “We love these folks. For years now they’ve been DIY touring like madmen, relentlessly writing and recording increasingly great records, and maintaining the type of creatively independent ethos that truly sets them apart from other bands.”
The partnership feels like a natural fit for a band that has handled nearly every part of its career independently since forming in 2020.
Album and Theme
The 11-track Exhausted Dialogue explores internal and external struggles, the exhaustion of fighting the same battles, and the difficulty of finding reprieve. The album’s title comes from video-game terminology, where players “exhaust” an NPC’s dialogue by repeatedly speaking with the character until there is nothing new left to say. Lozier explains that this concept sums up the record’s recurring frustrations and themes.
Doom Scroll recorded Exhausted Dialogue themselves, with Lozier and guitarist Jon Pizarro tracking the album in their bedrooms. Grammy Award-winning engineer Jason Livermore mixed and mastered the record. Ian Cook of Larry and His Flask also appears on the track “Horsemen.”

“Sisyphus” follows the recent singles “The Ravine” and “Zugzwang.” All three appear on Exhausted Dialogue, DOOM SCROLL’s first full-length since 2021’s Immoral Compass.
