Southern California punk band Mad Tab has released its new single and video, “Stock Itch,” via InnaNuttshell Reekordingz, the new label founded by Fishbone bassist and co-founder Norwood Fisher.

Raw, technical, and relentlessly charged, “Stock Itch” channels Mad Tab’s volatile blend of SoCal punk urgency, intricate musicianship, dual lead vocals, analog synth textures, and four-part harmonies. The song will appear on the band’s forthcoming full-length album, Alas! The Bomb Voyage…, arriving in Fall 2026.

Lyrically, “Stock Itch” examines the ways people surrender their natural freedoms in exchange for comfort, convenience, and material gratification.

“‘Stock Itch’ metaphorically draws comparisons between our natural, given rights and the ways we abandon those rights for the convenience of unnatural materialism and codependency,” explains Graham “Gram Tab.”

Mad Tab - Stock Itch (Official Music Video)

Formed in 2006 in the South Orange County underground, Mad Tab built its reputation through years of house parties, bowling alley shows that erupted into riots, abrupt shutdowns, lineup changes, and extended periods of silence. Along the way, the band explored reggae, rocksteady, and ska before returning to the aggressive punk foundation it had never stopped writing toward.

Today, founding members Dave Tab and Gram Tab, alongside Scott Beattie and drummer Rob Wheeler, operate with the kind of chemistry that can only come from nearly two decades of shared history. Their music occupies the space between Bad Brains, Minor Threat, and Turnstile, with flashes of Rancid and The Hives—yet Mad Tab’s expanded sonic palette keeps the band from fitting neatly into any single category.

Keys and analog synth are woven directly into the group’s sound, adding grit, propulsion, and texture rarely heard in punk. Combined with a dual-fronted vocal attack and densely layered harmonies, the result is confrontational, unpredictable, and built to hit with equal force onstage and on record.

Mad Tab’s relationship with Norwood Fisher grew out of his longstanding connection with Dave Tab, forged through years of touring and working throughout Southern California’s music community. As Fisher launches InnaNuttshell Reekordingz, Mad Tab stands as the label’s first artist—a deliberate choice reflecting the band’s originality, resilience, and staying power.

Nearly four years in the making, Alas! The Bomb Voyage… was recorded by Hayden Hanson of Tunnel Vision at Tubetown Studios in San Clemente and mixed by Jim Monroe, whose credits include The Adolescents, The Dickies, Cadillac Tramps, and Screamin’ Jay Hawkins. The album captures Mad Tab as it exists today: focused, ferocious, and finally documented at full intensity.

After 20 years of chaos, persistence, and reinvention, Mad Tab is no longer waiting for the right moment. With “Stock Itch,” the band continues charging directly into its next chapter.
