JUPITER, Fla., March 2, 2026 – The St. Louis Cardinals announced the team has reduced its Spring Training roster to 57 players today, with 11 players moving to minor league camp.

The team optioned right-handed pitcher Tekoah Roby to the Memphis (AAA) roster, and re-assigned non-roster pitchers Jurrangelo Cijntje, Pete Hansen, Ixan Henderson, Austin Love, Hancel Rincon, Sem Robberse, Jared Shuster and Zack Thompsoncatcher Graysen Tarlow and outfielder Mike Antico to minor league camp.

The Cardinals currently have 39 major league roster players and 18 non-roster invitees in camp.

Tekoah Roby

No real surprises here, as most of these guys were long shots to stick around in camp.

Roby (#14 Prospect) probably had the best shot at sticking around, but he’s struggled with health in the past and needs to prove he’s healthy.

Cijntje (#4 Prospect), Hansen (#33 Prospect), Henderson (#17 Prospect), and Rincon (#28 Prospect) all ranked on the Nyrdcast Top 50 Prospects, but none are quite ready yet. Hansen is probably the closest of the bunch.

Thompson is a little disappointing; the former first round pick looked like a potential options 2-3 seasons ago, but injuries and ineffectiveness have derailed his career. He could be up during the season if he proves himself at Memphis.

  • That’s a pretty standard move as they work through the early part of spring training. It makes sense to give those guys some more game experience before making final decisions.
