DC Pick of the Week: Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #56

One of DC’s most consistently excellent titles continues this week, delivering another chapter in the adventures of the World’s Finest heroes.

Image Comics Pick of the Week: Creepshow Vol. 05 #2

The horror anthology inspired by the classic film franchise remains one of Image’s best seasonal reads and a perfect fit for October.

THE CREEP HOSTS YOU IN TIME FOR SPOOKY SZN! I SAW SANTA: A SPAWN UNIVERSE CHRISTMAS STORY creative duo CHRIS KILLIAN and ANDREW SANDERS team up with BALDEMAR RIVAS (UNEARTH) to present a skull cracking tale about a former corrections officer who’s imprisoned in the very cellblock he used to patrol. Let’s hope his new roommates can forgive and forget before they call for…. lights out!

Then, TYLER CROOK (Out of Alcatraz) tells the touching story of a devoted husband who will stop at nothing to protect the ones he loves, even from beyond the grave. It’ll rip your heart out!

Dark Horse Pick of the Week: Three Worlds/Three Moons: Arrivals #1

The latest entry in the ambitious Three Worlds / Three Moons universe debuts this week, making it one of the most anticipated indie launches on the shelf.

From the New York Times bestselling and multi-Eisner award-nominated creator of East of West, The Manhattan Projects, Decorum, and more comes this ambitious science-fiction universe presented by comics titan Jonathan Hickman.

A grand new sci-fi epic begins in a bold new universe…

A generation after the disappearance of astronaut and explorer Tajo Vallar, his children are called home to reunite and solve a new mystery — but first, they have to get there!

Experience a guided tour of each of the three worlds and three moons like no other in this stunning, massively oversized introductory issue from the minds of Jonathan Hickman, Mike del Mundo, Mike Huddleston, and Nick Spencer — featuring contributions from Christian Ward, James Stokoe, Juni Ba and many more!

Indie Pick of the Week: It Demands Sacrifice #1

Bad Idea Comics continues its horror-focused output with a chilling new debut that should appeal to readers looking for something outside the mainstream superhero universe.

Emmy Award-winning screenwriter Philip Gelatt (LOVE, DEATH & ROBOTS), acclaimed filmmaker David Yarovesky (BRIGHTBURN), and visionary artist Adam Pollina (X-FORCE) carve up a shocking new horror comic book event.

On a quiet farm, Bronson, the youngest and smallest member of a close-knit family of goats, lives an idyllic life of sun-drenched fields, fresh hay, and sibling rivalries. His greatest concern is proving to his older siblings—and, more importantly, his imposing father—that he is more than just the runt of the herd.

Then, in a single night, everything changes.

A drug-fueled, sex-obsessed satanic hippie murder cult descends on the farm, slaughtering the family who raised and protected the goats before abducting Bronson and his loved ones. Deep in the wilderness, beneath a blood-red moon, hundreds of cult followers gather for an ancient ritual. Their purpose: to sacrifice the goats and summon a ravenous demon from beyond.

Now, the fate of his family rests on the shoulders of the one creature least prepared to save them.

Innocent, outmatched, and absurdly cute, Bronson must summon a courage he never knew he possessed as he confronts knife-wielding cultists, unspeakable horrors, and forces far beyond his understanding in a desperate attempt to rescue his family before they are offered up in blood.
