LA/Seattle power-punk duo Mr. Dinkles return with their new single “Letter To Elon,” a sharp, reflective track pulled from their forthcoming 5-song ‘R.I.P.T.’ EP, out June 5th on Futureless. Following the band’s recent releases “IDRW” and “Eat Chips and Talk Shit,” the single continues to build a body of work that examines the current political and cultural climate through the lens of a young woman in her 20s—balancing dark outcomes with a sense of irony and emotional clarity.

Mr. Dinkles - "Letter to Elon" (official video)

“‘Letter to Elon’ is less about Elon himself, but humanity,” the band shares. “Emphasizing to choose love and compassion over power and technology.”

With this release, Mr. Dinkles further establish themselves as a band capable of turning observation into impact. They have the talent and vision to create music that acts as a lens on the current state of the world, bringing the trials and tribulations of modern life into sharp focus in an intimate and relatable way.

The band’s songwriting pairs introspective lyricism with rich, melodic sensibility—at times as sweet and emotionally resonant as anything Neil Young has written. Categorizing Mr. Dinkles isn’t easy. While “power-punk duo” is a starting point, their sound stretches beyond that—pulling in elements of post-grunge and garage rock while evoking a sense of nostalgia from an era when singers and their guitars carried raw emotional weight.

Their lo-fi production and drop-D tuning add texture and grit, while dynamic shifts in pacing give the songs a fluid, almost cinematic quality—each turn landing with precision and intent.

Comprised of Mac Rettig (vocals/guitar) and Rocco Ramos (drums), the duo deliver a sound that feels both immediate and expansive. Rettig’s vocal presence cuts through with urgency and vulnerability, anchored by Ramos’ driving, unrelenting rhythms.
