ST. LOUIS, Mo., August 22, 2025– ST. LOUIS, MO – Cardinals Care, the charitable arm of the St. Louis Cardinals, is teaming up with FanDuel Sports Network Midwest broadcasters Chip Caray and Brad Thompson to launch the 2025 Feed the Future initiative, benefitting Operation Food Search. With child poverty more than doubling nationwide, this effort will help provide vital resources to families across the St. Louis region at risk of hunger.

“Food insecurity continues to affect too many families across our region,” said Caray. “With the support of our team of broadcasters at FanDuel Sports Network, and generous Cardinals fans, we hope to provide meaningful relief while rallying the community together.”

Fans can contribute by making a donation of $5 or more to support Operation Food Search.  Fans (ages 18 and older) who donate $200 or more will be eligible to participate in a special Feed the Future Food Packaging event alongside Chip, Brad and fellow broadcasters from FanDuel Sports Network at Operation Food Search on Friday, September 19 from 10 AM – 12 PM.   As part of the experience, each registered donor will receive:

  1. Four (4) tickets to the Friday, September 19 game vs. Milwaukee Brewers
  2. Cardinals Goody Bag
  3. photo opportunity with broadcasters at the event

“Because of a 20-30% increase in need reported by our community food partners, Operation Food Search relies on dedicated friends like Cardinals Care, Chip Caray and Brad Thompson to help us rally the community to meet that need,” said Kristen Wild, President & CEO of Operation Food Search. “We’re excited to have this caring group of Cardinals fans coming to OFS and playing such a crucial role in our mission.”

To double the impact, Cards Care will match all fan donations up to $10,000, with 100% of proceeds benefitting Operation Food Search.  For more information and to register and donate, fans may visit cardinals.com/feedthefuture.

ABOUT OPERATION FOOD SEARCH

Founded in 1981, Operation Food Search is a hunger relief organization that provides food, nutrition education and innovative programs in order to reduce food insecurity and increase equitable access to food. OSF serves 200,000 people every month through a network of 330 partners in 25 counties in Missouri and Illinois. They use a combination of immediate food assistance and supportive services, while also working on long-term solutions and systemic changes to help solve the problem of hunger.

ABOUT CARDINALS CARE

Cardinals Care was established to give fans a way to team up with players and the organization to help children in our community—both on and off the baseball field. Established in 1997, Cards Care has invested over $31 million to support St. Louis area children, built or renovated 24 youth ball fields in local under-resourced neighborhoods, and distributed over $17 million in grants to nonprofit organizations.

Since 2004, Cards Care has orchestrated the innovative Redbird Rookies program, a free co-ed baseball/softball league for kids who otherwise might not have the opportunity to play. In addition to providing all the uniforms and equipment needed for each team, Redbird Rookies also provides extensive off-field support in the areas of health, education, mentoring and the cultural arts for each of the nearly 2,500 kids who participate in the program each year.

In 2023, Cardinals Care launched the Cardinals Nike Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) program in cooperation with Major League Baseball to provide greater baseball and softball opportunities for youth ages 14-18 in our community.
