Ben Basile on Benergy & Sleep Walk Sounds
“I came across Wiretap Records in my search for a home for Benergy’s and I immediately resonated with Rob’s original reasoning for starting Wiretap Records… Working fulltime in the music industry, but still feeling disconnected from the music that led him to his career. This is exactly what Benergy is for me.”

“I’ve been a full time musician for 15+ years now and I’m grateful to record and play a lot of different music. It was ska music that inspired me to become a musician. But until this point, I hadn’t made a ska record of my own. Most people know me for playing ska punk with Big D and The Kids Table. While at home in the Hudson Valley, I’m mostly known as a jazz musician. “Benergy” is something that finally marries these two sides of me and brings me back to where I fell in love with music in the first place. Of all the music I’ve recorded… this is the record that feels the most like me.”

“When Rob and I connected he told me about his idea for a new imprint that would become ‘Sleep Walk Sounds’ and I was immediately on board! It’s a pleasure working alongside Rob in getting my music out to the world. It’s an honor to be the first artist announced for Sleep Walk Sounds.”
