3 Things Thursday: Nintendo Update
Introduction: Nintendo News
This month has been a veritable buffet of Nintendo; from leaks and rumors, to new hardware, fans of the big N have been eating well. This means when I went to pick a Three Things Thursday topic, Nintendo was obviously going to be at the forefront of my options. I even had a bit of a hard time settling on only three, but in the end, these are what I came thought were the biggest.
Number One: Alarmo

What can I say about Alarmo that I didn’t already say in my reaction article earlier this week. After a little time to stew, I think it’s an odd idea that might have some potential. What Alarmo is, for anyone who didn’t read the reaction article, is a alarm clock that tracks you in your sleep and wakes you up with Nintendo sounds. At the one hundred dollar (U.S.) price point, I don’t think it has a huge market. However, like I said, know that I’ve thought about it, I think there is potential. Even if it might fail.
Number Two: Switch Online “Playtest Program”
I haven’t yet decided if I’ll do an article on this, as of right now I don’t know a ton about it. The playtest program only let in ten thousand players (which sounds like a lot, but consider the 143.4 million switches sold) and I did not get in. Because of that right know the things I know are that Nintendo does not want people to share what they see through it. (even though people definitely will) The current speculations have to do with Switch 2 and maybe even Gamecube online service. Some people think it might be cloud upscaling. At the end of the day, all I can do is speculate.

Number Three: Switch 2 Leaks And Project Name
The last one I want to talk about is the 3d model leaks of the switch 2 and the actual project name that we have for the supposed switch 2. Firstly, the project name, ounces. I have very little to say about this other than, why ounces? Next, we have the leaks, we have 3d mockups that seem to be real or very close to real. The reason they seem to be real is because multiple sources have corroborated this. (I will link a PC mag article that has more info including some sources) I believe that these pictures are at the very least close to real, but I could be wrong.
