2018 MLB Draft Tracker
As I’ve done in the past, I’m tracking the signings of the MLB Draft. Here are the first 10 rounds, which count to each teams draft pool (AKA the amount of money they have to spend on their draft picks).
Quick rundown…each team is allotted an amount of money they can spend on their picks in the first 10 rounds. They can exceed the amount, but under penalty. Any pick signed after the 10th round for more than $125,000 will have the excess applied to their draft pool (if an 11th rounder signs for $150k, $25k is added to their pool – not their allotment). If they go over their allotment up to 5%, they are taxed on the overage; most teams will do this. Anything over 5% will result in the tax and loss of future draft picks, which has never happened yet, so I won’t go into detail.
The tracker is updated daily. The first tab is the signing details. The second tab is team pool amounts.
Anything missing? Post in the comments (preferably with a source) and I’ll get the tracker updated.
