2018 St. Louis Cardinal Draft Tracker

Like the MLB Draft Tracker, I do one individually for the Cardinals. I have a little more info include in the table, like percentage of a position they took, percentage of education levels, etc. In the near future, I’ll look at the last few years of each of these demographics to see what trends they’ve had in recent years.

The Cardinals have $7,968,400 available to spend on the first 10 rounds and any player taken after the 10th round with a bonus above $125,000 (the overage is a hit against the $7.5M). With the 5% overage penalty, they can go up to $8,366,820; this means if they spend $7,968,401, they will be taxed 100% on that $1 they went over. Since the inception of the draft pools, the Cardinals have exceed their pool amount every year, but never exceed the 5% (exceeding 5% would add loss of picks the following year in addition to the tax).

The first tab will show the players drafted and their signing status. The second tab will have the pool information along with the demographics of their drafted players.
