Link Roundup: Comic Movies, Beer, the Briefcase, and a Stunner
James Wan is set to direct direct the Aquaman movie, according to the NY Daily News. The Hollywood Reporter adds that he’s also signed a deal with Sony to direct the Robotech live action movie. Wan is pretty popular right now after making a bank with Furious 7. I’m curious to see Aquaman’s role in Batman Vs Superman, but I don’t know if I’ll rush to the theater to see him in a solo movie. Robotech, on the other hand, was one of my favorite book series growing up; at this point, I’d see it at the theater.
On the Marvel side, Comic Book Resources looks at the movie rights for Marvel’s characters. If you can keep everything straight, it’s a good read. It took a few times of reading through to figure out who owns the right to who. I didn’t like seeing that Marvel doesn’t own the rights to the Badoon; I think they could be a great race to see in a Guardians of the Galaxy sequel.
Thrillist gives us their 33 beers you need to drink before you die. I hate to disappoint everyone, but I’ve only had 7. Zombie Dust (Three Floyds) is probably my favorite of all time, so I’m glad to see it on there. My wife picked up Tank 7 (Boulevard) last weekend for me and I’d recommend it. Perennial Artisan Ales’ Barrel-Age Abraxas is the only local beer on their, and it’s nearly impossible to get; I’ll get it some day though.
Due to my lack of TV watching, I hadn’t heard about The Briefcase. Essentially, 2 families are offered $101,000 but have to decide between keeping it or helping the other family. People are saying they are pitting 2 families in need against each other. I’m surprised a network would allow this show to air; then again, the Kardashians and Jersey Shore continually renewed because people watched them.
To finish up today, I’m sure everyone has seen the video of the Stone Cold Stunner given at the University of Miami Graduation ceremony; how about with JR commentary?
