With the offseason nearing an end, here is the '25 Cardinals Salary Matrix. I've left '24 on their for now since there are buyouts from declined options. I have the projected arbitration salaries from MLBTR for those going through arbitration. I've also added as many of the pre-arb numbers as possible; those without a full year service time could be wrong, but I'll update them as I get clarification.
This could be a really quick winter meetings for the Cardinals. We know Willson Contreras & Sonny Gray are staying, Nolan Arenado is as good as gone, & any other veteran is up in the air. They won't be adding much, so no big deals will happen.
The Cardinals announced that they have declined the 2025 club options for pitchers Kyle Gibson, Lance Lynn, and Keynan Middleton; all 3 are now free agents.
The Cardinals return to Busch Stadium for the final homestand of 2024 with four games against the Pittsburgh Pirates (Sept. 16-19) and a three-game Interleague weekend series against the Cleveland Guardians (Sept. 20-22).
The Cardinals are back at Busch & will induct 3 new members into the Red Jacket club as part of the organization’s Hall of Fame Weekend. The 6-game homestand begins with a 3-game Interleague weekend series against the Mariners (Sept. 6-8) followed by 3 games with the Reds (Sept. 10-12).
The Cardinals return to Busch Stadium for a brief 4-game homestand against the Padres (August 26-29). 3 games feature special theme ticket giveaways.
The Cardinals are back at Busch Stadium to open a six-game homestand starting with a three-game weekend series against the Los Angeles Dodgers (August 16-18) followed by three games with the Milwaukee Brewers (August 20-22).
The Cardinals return to Busch Stadium for a brief four-game homestand starting with a make-up game with the New York Mets (August 5), followed a three-game Interleague series against the Tampa Bay Rays (August 6-8).
Now that we are just over halfway through the season, it's a good time to review the overall team numbers and see where they can improve before the trade deadline.
