TOKYO ROSE Joins Punchline Tour and Releases First New Music in 20 Years
New Jersey pop-punk band Tokyo Rose has reunited to join Punchline on tour. The group recently released the EP Never Say Die, marking their first new music in nearly two decades, and is preparing a new music video alongside select fall concert dates.
Formed in 2001, Tokyo Rose previously toured extensively and released three studio albums before going on an extended hiatus. Alongside their new music and live shows, the band is celebrating the twentieth anniversary of their album New American Saint with a remastered deluxe edition.

New Jersey emo/pop-punk favorites Tokyo Rose are back on the road, joining Punchline for select dates on the 37 Everywhere 20th Anniversary Tour.
The shows follow the release of Never Say Die, Tokyo Rose’s first new music in nearly 20 years. The EP was produced and mixed by Fred Mascherino (Taking Back Sunday/The Color Fred) and Steve Angelo.
The band is also preparing to release a video for “Better When (Fibonacci x Pascal),” which they describe as “the mathematical theorem-inspired, math-rock fever dream of a manic depressive.”

The run begins September 10 at Mahall’s in Lakewood, Ohio, with additional shows scheduled throughout September and November.

Background: Tokyo Rose
Formed in 2001 by Ryan Dominguez and Chris Poulsen, Tokyo Rose emerged from New Jersey’s thriving early-2000s alternative scene, building a loyal following through energetic songwriting, relentless touring and heartfelt live performances.
After releasing their debut EP, Chasing Fireflies, Tokyo Rose signed with SideCho Records and released their first full-length album, Reinventing a Lost Art, in 2003. Recorded by Chris Badami, the album launched the band onto the national stage, leading to appearances at Skate and Surf Festival, SXSW, CMJ and the Vans Warped Tour. Their music was also featured on MTV’s Road Rules.
Tokyo Rose expanded their sound with 2005’s New American Saint, produced by Matt Goldman. The album took the band across the United States, the United Kingdom and Japan, while the single “Spectacle” received rotation on mtvU.
The band followed with 2007’s The Promise in Compromise. Produced by Fred Archambault, the album debuted on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart and was followed by the band’s final Vans Warped Tour appearance before entering an extended hiatus.
Over the years, Tokyo Rose has shared stages with Motion City Soundtrack, Good Charlotte, The Starting Line, Yellowcard, Brand New and The All-American Rejects. Their songs have also appeared on compilations released by Hopeless Records, The Militia Group and the Vans Warped Tour.
Now reunited, Tokyo Rose is writing, recording and performing again, reconnecting with longtime fans while reaching a new generation discovering the band for the first time. The band is also celebrating the 20th anniversary of New American Saint with a remastered deluxe edition featuring two previously unreleased songs.
With Never Say Die, the upcoming “Better When (Fibonacci x Pascal)” video and a new stretch of live dates ahead, Tokyo Rose is continuing a long-awaited new chapter while honoring the music and community that first put them on the map.
