Quick Hit Reviews

I hit a single book last week; when I get caught up on X-Men books, I’ll be reading more of each week’s new books, especially #1 issues and books starting new arcs.

  • Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars: Battleworld #1: Set in the middle of the original Secret Wars, Spidey gets pulled out of the original story to go on a little “side mission” where he bounces around somewhere. I was confused about what was going on, but it made it seem that someone was above the Beyonder on the whole Battleworld thing. Maybe a re-read of Secret Wars would help me understand what was going on or maybe this is something that will be revealed later and would read better as a trade. I’d give this one a C+, with the caveat that it could be higher when the story is over.

I’ll be back next week with the new books and a couple more quick hit reviews. And don’t forget to check out the This Week On DC Universe Infinite writeup for their new digital books. Also, check out the This Week on Marvel Unlimited catalogue here.
