John Vincent III Announces Headline Dates in Europe, the United Kingdom, and North America Following Sold-Out US Run
Tickets for Fall Tour On Sale March 15, 2024
March 11, 2024 – John Vincent III has announced a series of headline dates in Europe and the UK this summer as well as a tour of North America slated for this fall. The announcement comes on the heels of Vincent’s sold-out run of shows in Nashville, New York City, Los Angeles, and Denver, as well as a Europe/UK tour opening for Stephen Sanchez, which wrapped at the end of February in Paris, France.
Vincent’s fall tour, which includes stops in Seattle, Chicago, Toronto, Montreal, Boston, New York City, and Atlanta, will mark his first major headline outing since 2019. Pre-sales for the North American dates will begin on March 12 at 10:00 AM local time, and tickets will go on sale to the general public at 10:00 AM local time on Friday, March 15. A full list of confirmed dates is below, and more shows will be announced in the coming weeks.
“So so excited to head out on what really is my first proper tour as a headliner,” said Vincent. “I’ve spent so much time on the road, both doing shows and not. During my time away from music, I was living on the road and the name of this tour just felt fitting. ‘The Roadtrip’ is more than a tour for me, as I’m equally excited to meet the people who support my music and enable me to do this. Playing those few shows in New York, LA, and Denver got me so pumped and made me feel so lucky that I get to do what I do. If you’re reading this, I hope you’ll join us on this roadtrip!”
Following his sold-out show at Los Angeles’ famed Troubadour in early February, Vincent was invited to perform at the Americana Music Association’s pre-GRAMMY salute to Paul Simon alongside such luminaries as Jackson Browne, Natalie Lafourcade, Rufus Wainwright, and Dwight Yoakam. After playing back-to-back shows to capacity crowds at Denver’s Bluebird Theater, he traveled to the UK for the start of Sanchez’s UK and European engagement.
Currently boasting more than 2.7 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone (where his songs have been streamed more than 90 million times in the past year), John Vincent III earned immediate attention and critical applause with a series of self-released singles and EPs, followed by his breakthrough 2019 debut album, Songs From The Valley.
The Houston, TX-raised singer-songwriter – then based in Los Angeles but currently residing in Nashville – celebrated the LP’s success with nearly non-stop touring, returning home just as the pandemic struck the world over. Rather than sit still, Vincent and his partner, photographer/filmmaker Kaitlyn Renee, packed up their Ford Transit van and hit the road, spending eight months together (along with a new puppy) exploring America in their home-on-wheels. Though Vincent tried his best to tune out the world around him, he found himself writing songs for the sheer joy of writing songs, not thinking about structure or intricate chords, but simply relating the extraordinary experience he was living.
Vincent returned to Los Angeles and pushed his songcraft even further, tightening and adapting and refining until his songs revealed their true identities. The resulting Songs For The Canyon proves a massive leap forward for Vincent, his evocative lyricism and wistful melodic gifts now even more detailed and emotionally rich than ever before.
Recorded with top producers in studios on both coasts (including New York City’s famed Electric Lady Studios), songs such as “Bluebird Singing,” the incandescently orchestrated “Dandelion,” and the foot-stomping, solo acoustic “That’s Just The Way It Is, Babe” see the talented troubadour driving his heartfelt, stripped-down sound towards new sonic vistas inspired by the classic folk-rock of Laurel Canyon. Marked by its open-armed storytelling and timeless musical approach, Songs For the Canyon serves as an undeniable milestone for John Vincent III, standing tall as both a chronicle of his recent adventures and confident signpost towards future musical journeys.
Praise for Songs For the Canyon:
“Songs For the Canyon, whose title is a nod to California’s Laurel Canyon and the wealth of music that emerged from that area in the 1960s and seventies, does in fact recall its heyday – not just singer/songwriters like David Crosby, Neil Young, and Joni Mitchell but at times, the Pet Sounds–era Beach Boys. The album, which seems remarkably cohesive despite multiple producers, profits from Vincent’s expressive high-pitched vocals, imaginative romantic lyrics, and lush soundscapes that feature violin, viola, and cello.” The Aquarian
“In this moment, the balance between understated arrangements, indie-folk production, and confessional honesty feels like a cozy old hoodie…a pretty, peaceful listen.” No Depression
“Vincent proclaims that love is central to his life and offers these songs as proof.” PopMatters
“A soulful, introspective journey across states.” Happy Magazine
“This collection, though predictably intimate given the headspace Vincent was in when he wrote them, is as powerful as it is delicate.” Americana Highways
“The gentle rhythms and songs from the heart give off early Bon Iver vibes. If you feel the need to disengage from the never en-ing cycle of social media, the daily grind of a job, or just wish to-reimagine yourself in a happy place then this is the album to listen to.” The AU Review
