The 2021-22 Cardinals Transaction Page
The off-season is moving at a lightning pace – big names are coming off the board before the CBA expiration date Wednesday night. The Cardinals haven’t been as active yet, but they’ve been tied to a few players that have signed elsewhere (Max Scherzer, Corey Seager). Below are pages of transactions for the team. The first tab is the current free agents; it shows where they go and for how much. The second tab is who they’ve signed. The third tab is trades they’ve made (once they make one). The fourth tab is their waiver movement, both coming and going. The fifth tab is a list of their arbitration players, including MLB Trade Rumors’ projected salaries; it’ll include what they sign for as deals are announced. The final tab is former Cardinals who are changing teams; it’ll give details of where they are going.
Any player that is italicized are minor league free agents.
Bookmark this page, as it’ll be updated as deals are happening.
Notes on signings:
- Steven Matz is a good mid-rotation signing and leaves quite a bit of money available for other upgrades. If the team can sign another starter, they’ll be in good shape in the rotation.
- Losing Nick Plummer could be a mistake; he finally put together a quality season in the upper minors and should have been added to the 40-man roster. The Mets might have stolen a quality piece from us.
