SAFARI ROOM’s Sophomore Album ‘Complex House Plants’ Out May 13

SAFARI ROOM’s Sophomore Album ‘Complex House Plants’ Out Friday, May 13

Safari Room’s sophomore album, ‘Complex House Plants,’ will be released on Friday, May 13. The album was recorded over the first half of 2021 in response to month of isolation and a goal to expand on the sound of the band’s debut album, ‘Look Me Up When You Get There.’ ‘Complex House Plants’ is about coming together despite all the odds. The album was revitalizing to create after a year of statis and separation, and we hope that it can do the same for our fans and listeners.

Listen to the single ‘It Just Takes Time’ here.

‘Complex House Plants’ was recorded in Goodlettesville, TN at Schematic Studios and produced by Cole Yepsen and Safari Room. The album was mixed by Collin Pastore (producer for Lucy Dacus) and mastered by Preston Cochrane (engineer for Lucy Dacus, owner of Trace Horse Studios). All artwork was created by lead singer, Alec Koukol, as an accompanying creative outlet alongside the album.

Safari Room is an indie rock band best described as “midwest emo, assembled in Nashville.” With a keenness on human connection as a founding cornerstone, the band is characterized by ambient soundscapes, intricate rhythms, baritone-led falsetto vocals, crunchy guitars and introspective lyrical content. Safari Room is currently composed of Alec Koukol (songwriter/lead vocalist/guitarist), Chris Collier (guitar) and Austin Drewry (drums). Touring the U.S., Safari Room has established themselves as one of Nashville’s most intriguing and personal rock bands. Safari Room released their debut album ‘Look Me Up When You Get There’ in July 2020 (recorded in Nashville, TN and co-produced by Safari Room + Paul Moak).
