CALGARY, AB — After three decades of pushing the boundaries of melodic hardcore, Calgary’s technical punk veterans Belvedere return with their seventh full-length album, Seven Years of Bad Luck, due out June 19 on Thousand Islands Records. The 11-track release arrives on the heels of an intense stretch of global touring and signals a band still evolving—restless, sharp, and as urgent as ever.
The album’s second single, “Dormitory,” is now streaming, offering another preview of the record’s emotional and thematic core. Of the track, frontman Steven Rawles says:“You accept that in a relationship, you take the bad with the good. But what happens when your communication breaks down and nothing helps the situation. Neither of you can love or accept love when your heart is in this “dormitory” or institutional state.”

Formed over 30 years ago, Belvedere have built a reputation for blending breakneck technicality with melody and introspection. Seven Years of Bad Luck continues that legacy while pushing into new territory, balancing contrasts at every turn: melodic yet dissonant, melancholy yet hopeful, cryptic yet direct, and intense yet dynamic. It’s a record that reflects both the band’s history and their refusal to stand still.
The current lineup features:
The band has spent the last several years touring relentlessly across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia, reconnecting with longtime fans and earning new ones along the way. The band just completed a tour with Strung Out, and will return to Europe in June and July for select dates with Authority Zero, MakeWar, Strung Out, The Corps, and more.
Seven Years of Bad Luck was produced by Casey Lewis and Steven Rawles, recorded at Echo Base Studio, and mixed and mastered by Lewis. The album artwork was created by Seb Theriault (SterioDesign), with photography by Dominic Gendron.
Seven Years of Bad Luck Tracklist:
With Seven Years of Bad Luck, Belvedere prove that longevity doesn’t mean slowing down, it means sharpening your edge. Three decades in, they’re still finding new ways to challenge themselves and their listeners.
