NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 29th, 2026) –– Punk Pop artist MEGG is leaning all the way into the mess with her new single “Idiot,” arriving May 29th. Equal parts self-aware, chaotic, and cathartic, the track captures the feeling of trying to survive in a world where it feels like you’re damned if you do, damned if you don’t.
Built on massive pop melodies, punk-driven production, and the reckless energy of early-2000s MTV culture, “Idiot” sounds like Good Charlotte colliding with MOD SUN in the middle of a house party from a teen skate movie. The song channels the spirit of TRL era pop punk while delivering a modern, brutally honest perspective on burnout, insecurity, and trying to make peace with not having everything figured out.
“At its core, ‘Idiot’ is about accepting that nobody actually knows what they’re doing,” says MEGG. “I feel like that’s where we are as a society right now. I wrote this as a way of embracing the fact that we’re all just doing our best. Like, I’m just a pig rolling in the shit of it all — and if that makes me an idiot, then I guess the shoe fuckin’ fits.”
“Idiot” serves as the lead single for the upcoming Low Life Club Deluxe, set for release June 26th. To celebrate the single, MEGG will host a house party in Nashville – creating a space for the punks, rats, and fellow idiots. Fans can also expect extensive touring plans later this year, including a West Coast run in July and East Coast dates in September.
With its mix of sharp humor, emotional honesty, and explosive hooks, “Idiot” captures the feeling of laughing through the existential dread and screaming along with your friends anyway. It’s messy, loud, relatable — and unapologetically human.

This year, this “theatre kid turned punk brat” is gearing up to release a ‘deluxe edition’ of Low Life Club with 3 new rippers on June 26th followed with a West Coast run this summer and an East Coast run this Fall.
