V TORRES Releases Sophomore Album ‘Woman,

Los Angeles-based musician V Torres has released her independent sophomore album, Woman. Co-produced with Steve Aguilar, the seven-track project reflects a decade of personal experiences, spanning themes of identity, grief, healing, and self-discovery across various musical styles.

The album features previously released singles such as the title track, Winter Solstice, and That Night. Available on streaming platforms and vinyl, the release will be supported by an upcoming live performance at The Mint in Los Angeles on September 9.

SEPTEMBER 1, 2026 (Los Angeles, California) – “I just feel like this record has been a culmination of the last decade of my life and I am so proud of how it all turned out.” With those words, Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter and musician V Torres welcomes listeners into Woman, her deeply personal and expansive sophomore album (out independently today, September 1, 2026).

Spanning seven songs written across a transformative decade of her life, Woman is a record about what happens when you stop trying to force the answers and instead allow yourself to feel your way toward them.

“Being able to record this as a co-producer with my friend Steve Aguilar was such a gift,” she says. “I learned so much about myself, the process, letting things be, surrendering to divine timing and trusting my ears. It feels like this is the start of a new musical journey for me and I am excited to see where it takes me. I hope people dig into the record, listen to it from start to finish and realize that they are going to be okay.”

The singles leading up to album’s release began with “Woman,” the stirring title track that introduced Torres’ most vulnerable and fully realized work yet, exploring identity, resilience and the emotional weight carried through the many roles women inhabit.

“Winter Solstice” turned toward grief and compassion, written after a close friend lost her brother in a tragic accident and ultimately becoming a meditation on the quiet power of simply showing up for someone you love — while extending that same grace to yourself.

Most recently, “That Night” embraced the thrilling uncertainty of possibility, capturing the moment when friendship begins to blur into something more and the fear, excitement and vulnerability that come with letting your guard down.

Together, the three singles offered glimpses into the emotional landscape of Woman: identity and resilience, grief and healing, desire and uncertainty.

The album reveals an even more intimate portrait of the person behind those songs. Across its seven tracks, Woman moves fluidly through expansive indie rock, funky Americana, desert-hued psychedelia, Latin textures, stripped-down balladry and cinematic storytelling. Torres allows the experiences that inspired the record to coexist — heartbreak alongside freedom, grief alongside joy, softness alongside strength, endings alongside beginnings.

For instance, on “Beginnings,” Torres wrestles with the cyclical nature of endings and rebirth, recognizing that moving forward often requires surrendering what came before. “Great Escape” examines the loneliness and liberation that followed the end of her marriage, finding freedom in the uncomfortable space that comes after choosing yourself. “Slow” ventures into questions of morality, identity and freedom against a surreal desert backdrop inspired by a real-life experience in Joshua Tree.

Co-produced by Torres and longtime friend and collaborator Steve Aguilar, Woman marks the first time she has co-produced a full-length project herself, giving her the freedom to take ownership of the record’s sonic direction while learning to trust her ears, her instincts and the timing of the creative process.

“I’ve been in situations before where I felt muted creatively,” Torres previously explained. “This time, there was safety and freedom. If something didn’t feel fully expressed, we kept working until it did.”

This lesson ultimately became central to Woman. The album is evidence of what she learned by living through the past decade of her life. There is no single version of womanhood, no tidy answer to grief, heartbreak, or identity, and no perfect timeline for becoming who you’re meant to be.

For Torres, the record is about allowing all those contradictions to coexist. “Being a woman now means allowing yourself to just be rather than just perform,” she says. “It’s being more powerful, more emotional, more experienced, and more aligned with yourself instead of trying to fit someone else’s expectations.”

Born and raised in the coastal suburbs of Southern California, Torres grew up immersed in her parents’ eclectic record collection, absorbing everything from Pink Floyd, Steely Dan and Hank Williams Jr. to Joni Mitchell, Janis Joplin, JimiHendrix and Earth, Wind & Fire. By high school, she was performing original songs at local open mics before eventually taking the stage at iconic Los Angeles venues including The Roxy Theatre and The Viper Room with her first band, Gorgeous Got a Gun.

Today, Woman finds Torres stepping fully into her own voice — one shaped by a decade of change, loss, love, experimentation and hard-earned self-trust. It is an album that follows wherever the story leads: from the desert to the coast, from grief to hope, from uncertainty to freedom, and perhaps most importantly, it arrives with a simple message: you are going to be okay.
