INTEGRA PINK ANNOUNCE NEW SINGLE “MAGIC 8BALL,” OUT SEPTEMBER 4 VIA FUTURELESS

Southern California quartet returns with a new song that previews a forthcoming 10-track LP and 12-inch vinyl release

Fall dates include shows supporting Drag Talk and a November 14 album release show in Los Angeles

“…alternative cumbia-goes-punk…There’s a mischievous energy running through it all…The sound keeps pulling in different directions, different textures, different speeds at every turn, yet somehow stays locked to the body, leaning on a lineage of sound and culture that has always understood movement as a form of resistance.”- Remzecla

“…a beautifully chaotic blend that uses every beat to deliver its message like a punch to the face.”- RØKKR

Southern California band Integra Pink will release the new single, “MAGIC 8BALL,” on September 4 via Futureless Records. The song captures the push and pull of a relationship caught somewhere between reconnecting and saying goodbye. One moment the two people can barely communicate; the next, they are together again, looking for reassurance that neither seems able to give.

“For me, ‘MAGIC 8-BALL’ is about uncertainty within a relationship,” says vocalist and guitarist Leo Mendez. “Sometimes both people want the same thing, but the road to that looks different to each person, which can eventually lead to a disconnect. I think oftentimes, when there’s no actual communication, it leaves both people feeling like they might as well be asking a Magic 8 Ball for some reassurance or certainty.”

“MAGIC 8BALL” previews Integra Pink’s forthcoming full-length album, Knucks (Right), which will bring together five new songs and the five tracks previously released on the band’s Knucks (Left) EP. The 10-track album is also planned for release on 12-inch vinyl, with additional details to be announced soon.

The new song was written by Leonardo Mendez, with music by Mendez and Roman De La Fuente. The recording features Mendez on vocals, rhythm guitar, lead guitar and synth; De La Fuente on bass; and Nicholas Jauregui on drums.

Formed in 2022, Integra Pink features Leo Mendez on vocals and guitar, Bardo Mendez on vocals and guitar, Roman De La Fuente on bass and Nick Jauregui on drums. The Southern California quartet draws from punk, rock, new wave and Latin music, bringing those influences together in a sound matched by the energy and unpredictability of its live shows.

The band has performed at venues including The Roxy, The Lodge Room, the Constellation Room and the rooftop of the Fox Theater Pomona. It has also created its own visual world through the homemade PinkTV VHS series. Integra Pink has received support from KCRW, where recent singles “Spiderman Piñata” and “Curbstomp” earned airplay, and New Noise Magazine, which wrote: ““The greatest punk bands are the ones that create diverse sounds and Integra Pink do just that with their fusion of rock, punk, new wave, and at times even something like cumbia into their music.”

Integra Pink will play several California shows this fall, beginning with a September 27 headlining date at The Haven in Pomona. The band will then support Drag Talk in San Francisco, Sacramento, Los Angeles and Indio before returning to Los Angeles for a headlining album release show at Above the Bridge on November 14.

  • That sounds like a really interesting concept for a song. I always love it when bands explore those bittersweet feelings.
