Indie artist Jamurai Sack returns on December 5 with Anagapesis, a vivid, narrative-driven EP that follows the full arc of a relationship – from its bright beginning to its quiet, inevitable ending. Inspired by the Greek-rooted word for “falling out of love,” the project traces the emotional shifts, hard lessons, and personal growth that come with love lost.
Across the EP, Jamurai Sack blends intimate vocals, raw lyricism, and textured production to tell a cohesive story of connection, conflict, and acceptance. Each track captures a different chapter of the unraveling: the early spark, the tension beneath the surface, the breaking point, and the clarity that remains once the dust settles.
Written during a period of reflection, Anagapesis marks one of Jamurai Sack’s most focused and emotionally direct releases yet – turning heartbreak into something honest, cinematic, and deeply relatable.
Jamurai Sack first single – “Field Sobriety Stressed” – is upbeat yet heart-wrenching and is out now. The track captures the breaking point of a relationship – when you’re still fighting to fix things even as you start to let go.
“I tried to write a more upbeat song about a relationship falling apart,” says Greg Denner from the band. “It’s about the last part of fighting so hard to fix things, and the start of coming to terms with it – realizing you don’t want to feel the way you felt anymore. Sometimes things just aren’t worth fighting for.”
“Field Sobriety Stressed” channels frustration, reflection, and bittersweet clarity in equal measure and leads into Anagapesis.

“James And The Peach That May Or May Not Be Slightly Smaller Than Average”
This is a story about things starting to go downhill in a relationship and trying to get your head together. It’s about realizing you’re spinning your wheels for nothing. It’s about the bad parts of fights and the beginning of watching someone falling out of love and the questioning that comes with it.
“Once Upon A Time”
This song is about my perspective on fighting for a relationship to work. It’s about watching someone give up on you but still holding out hope that things can be saved and fixed. It’s about realizing you have a hard time seeing the patterns that are a consistent theme in dragging you down.
“Field Sobriety Stressed”
This is a song I wrote when I tried writing a more upbeat song about a relationship falling apart. The last part of trying to fight so hard to fix things and the start of coming to terms. It’s about realizing you don’t want to feel the way you felt. Sometimes things aren’t worth fighting for.
“I’ve Never Met A Working Title With A Job”
The thing about this song is that it’s one of the longest we’ve spent writing together. It’s sort of a tale of the breaking points and the point of realizations in a relationship. It’s about understanding how unhappy both parties are and realizing ultimately that sometimes things aren’t meant to be fixed. It’s about the paralyzing fear of watching it all transpire and being powerless to do anything to stop either of you falling out of love.
“Jam Goes Sober”
This is probably my favorite song on the album. It details the ending fights of the old part of a relationship. It’s about knowing things are over but having a hard time dealing with it. It’s about the fleeting hope that leaving is something they’d think back on and regret down the line. It’s about missing what was and can never be again.
