Chicago, IL — Long-running punk outfit Horace Pinker returns this Friday, September 12, with Now and the Future, the band’s first full-length album since 2011’s Local State Inertia and the follow-up to their 2022 EP House of Cards. Released via Canadian imprint People of Punk Rock Records, the album captures a veteran band still charging forward—delivering sharp melodies, punchy rhythms, and the undeniable energy that has fueled their global following for more than three decades.
“Horace Pinker returns with Now and the Future, our first full-length since 2011,” the band shares. “Driven by punchy rhythms, sharp melodies, and our signature energy, the record reflects how we continue to evolve while staying true to our punk roots.”
Recorded at Bombshelter Recording Studio in Chicago with Dan Precision (Rise Against, 88 Fingers Louie) handling engineering and production, the album finds the band—Scott Eastman (guitar/vocals), Bryan Jones (drums), and Greg Mytych (bass/vocals)—delivering a set of songs that balance grit and melody with thoughtful, incisive lyrics.
The record features singles like “Three Against Me” and “Call It a Day,” the latter a two-and-a-half-minute blast that “refines melodic punk and hardcore influences into a two-and-half minute blast of sonic energy,” according to the band. With cover art designed by JP Flexner (Beach Slang), Now and the Future arrives as a confident and uncompromising statement from a band that has always thrived on defying trends.
Formed in Tempe, AZ and now based in Chicago, Horace Pinker has shared the stage with NOFX, Green Day, Fugazi, Bad Religion, Jawbreaker, Agent Orange, Jimmy Eat World, The Offspring, All Systems Go, and Blink 182, while touring extensively across Europe, Asia, Brazil, Australia, and New Zealand. The band has played in over 20 countries, appearing at major festivals such as Groezrock (Belgium), Pouzza Fest (Montreal), and The Fest (Gainesville).
Their discography spans eight full-length albums, numerous EPs, and compilations, including a 7-inch on Fat Wreck Chords and a split with Face to Face. In a review of 2000’s Pop Culture Failure, AV Club editor Kyle Ryan praised the band for finding “the magic mix of intersecting guitars, a forceful rhythm section, and vocals that knew when to sing and when to shout.”
With Now and the Future, Horace Pinker continues that tradition of hard-hitting, melodic punk that has carried them through decades of independent music.
