Cardinals Reach Contract Agreements With All Pre-Arbitration Players

CARDINALS REACH CONTRACT AGREEMENTS WITH ALL PRE-ARBITRATION SERVICE TIME PLAYERS

ALL PLAYERS NOW SIGNED FOR THE 2025 SEASON

JUPITER, Fla., March 8, 2025 – The St. Louis Cardinals announced today that they have signed all of their pre-arbitration service time players to contracts for the 2025 season.   

Today’s announced signings include the following 28 players: 1B Luken Baker, OF/1B Alec Burleson, INF Jose Fermin, RHP Ryan Fernandez, INF Nolan Gorman, RHP Gordon Graceffo, INF/OF Michael Helman, RHP Tink Hence, C Iván Herrera, LHP Bailey Horn, OF Matt Koperniak, RHP Kyle Leahy, LHP Matthew Liberatore, RHP Ryan Loutos, RHP Michael McGreevy, RHP Roddery Muñoz, RHP Riley O’Brien, C Pedro Pagés, RHP Sem Robberse, RHP Tekoah Roby, RHP Chris Roycroft, INF Thomas Saggese, OF Victor Scott II, OF Michael Siani, RHP Matt Svanson, LHP Zack Thompson, OF Jordan Walker, SS Masyn Winn.

The Cardinals now have all players signed for 2025.

This might not seem like a big deal and compared to going to arbitration hearings, it’s not. There have been some hard feelings in the past about players being assigned a salary in the early years of their careers. Jack Flaherty was outspoken about the process; while he didn’t blame the Cardinals, he certainly didn’t absolve them of being a part of the system.

Most of these guys will make the MLB minimum; it’s expected that the minimum will be $760,000, with the value being $740,000 last season and $720,000 in 2023. For now, $760k will be added to pre-arbitration players on the Salary Matrix until actual amounts are released.
