Nov 6 – The Internet Baseball Writers Association of America (IBWAA) announced the winners of the IBWAA Rookie of the Year Awards Monday: Corbin Carroll of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Gunnar Henderson of the Baltimore Orioles. This is the IBWAA’s 15th annual election for these awards. All IBWAA members were eligible to vote.
Election results are as follows:
American League:
1st Place: Gunnar Henderson, Baltimore Orioles – 310 points
2nd Place: Josh Jung, Texas Rangers – 94 points
3rd Place: Triston Casas, Boston Red Sox – 91 points
National League:
1st Place: Corbin Carroll, Arizona Diamondbacks – 309 points
2nd Place: Kodai Senga, New York Mets – 127 points
3rd Place: James Outman, Los Angeles Dodgers – 70 points
The IBWAA endeavors to serve the baseball writing community, representing more than 800 baseball content creators. We strive to increase visibility, networking, and opportunities for all of our members. Voting for full-season awards takes place in September of each year, with selections announced in November. The IBWAA also holds voting for our Hall of Fame, preseason predictions, All-Stars, and Content Creator Awards.
