“The are the natural progeny of The Ramones and The Descendents. The Dollyrots walk that magical line between knife-sharpened irony and poodle-skirt nostalgia that few punk bands have or can. As they took the stage, their legacy was on full display” – Screamer Magazine
The Dollyrots are set to release their new album ‘Night Owls’ on October 13 via Wicked Cool Records. For ‘Night Owls,’ The band once again enlisted longtime collaborator John Fields (Jimmy Eat World, All Time Low, Meet Me At the Altar) who is responsible for the bulk of production credit. To keep the party going the band will be releasing a lyric video for all thirteen tracks on the album. See the lyric video for “Hey Girl” here: https://youtu.be/4z-7HRT8hVE
“We love the idea of having lyric videos for all the songs on the album. I can remember getting a new cassette when I was a kid and opening up the insert so I could read and sing along. I guess it’s kinda the modern-day version of that… you don’t really know the album until you know the words. Words overlaying little snapshots of our life touring and recording,” — says singer / bassist Kelly Ogden.
There is still time to pre-order and receive instant downloads of the songs “Night Owl” and “Hey Girl”. Pre-orders made directly from the band’s site will receive additional downloads that include demos and alternative versions that will be delivered in advance of the October 13th release date. In addition, the band is offering one-of-a-kind and limited items with Night Owls pre-orders that include stage gear, custom guitars, phone calls from the band, private acoustic house party performances, band wardrobe, lots of bundles, and more. Go check it out at https://bit.ly/DRNightOwls.
The album can also be Pre-Saved on all digital platforms at https://orcd.co/nightowls.
“You know how they say a band’s first album is usually their best? Well, I think because we had time for this one, you know, since the world stopped due to Covid, it’s a lot like a first album. We had so many bits and pieces and once we could finally get into the studio it all just flew out of us, like we had been holding something vital & urgent in for years. Because we had,” shares Ogden.
The Dollyrots are Kelly Ogden (bass and vocals) and Luis Cabeza (guitar and vocals) and Simon Hancock as their current touring drummer.
The band will be hosting a special album release party on October 13th at Heaven Can Wait in NYC with two separate events. The night will kick off with an intimate meet and greet that will include an acoustic performance, exclusive poster, and a photo with the Dollyrots. The meet and greet will start at 6:00 pm EST and tickets can be purchased at http://bit.ly/NightOwlsVIP
At 7 pm EST Heaven Can Wait will open to the public for the rest of the night’s festivities. The line-up includes The Dollyrots, Kings of The Wild Things and Wicked Cool Records labelmate Kurt Baker. Tickets can be purchased at: http://bit.ly/NightOwlsRelease
