DALE SHEPPARD Expresses Blunt Force Resilience on “She’s Sowing Time”

Canadian musician Dale Sheppard teams with his lyricist wife Kim on new single “She’s Sowing Time”

Canadian Musician and Hybrid Rock Singer Songwriter Dale Sheppard expresses blunt force resilience on his singularly powerful new post-punk-soaked single “She’s Sowing Time”. Since building his own home studio and embarking on solo musical projects, he’s found a winning writing combination by collaborating with his wife, Kim Sheppard, who is quite a brilliant lyricist. “She’s Sowing Time” benefits from it’s potent themes, having been directly inspired by Kim’s journey through cancer.

“She’s Sowing Time” is a song I composed from the poem my wife, Kim Sheppard, wrote during her journey with cancer. In the intro to this video, she writes… “It is the collision of terror and hope that are the force behind “She’s sowing time”.  It is the terror that drives, but the hope that saves. That, and the love and strength of my husband who took my words and so brilliantly composed the music to create this song.”  – Dale Sheppard

“She’s Sowing Time” was released on June 1, 2023 with an accompanying music video.

Artist Biography:

Dale Sheppard grew up in Victoria, BC with a lifelong passion for music. Since growing up in the 70’s, Dale would curate mixtapes and playlists for parties, events and workplaces every opportunity he had. This keen interest led to him volunteering for Roadrunner Records in 1992 (his uncle, Wayne Darley, was the original Bass player for prominent metal band Annihilator), and a volunteer gig for Men Without Hats in 2012.

To pursue his own musical vision, Dale built his own home studio to record his guitar, bass and synth-driven original music. Dale’s wife, Kim Sheppard, provides lyrics to most of his songs.

Dale Sheppard’s unique approach artfully combines Rock, Alternative, 80’s, Synth, Post Punk, Indie Rock, Classic Rock, Pop Rock and Industrial sounds to form a cohesive whole. Coupled with Kim’s potent, reflective lyrics, this makes for a powerful sonic cocktail. Dale’s latest release is the haunting, deeply meaningful  “She’s Sowing Time”, with lyrics directly inspired by Kim’s journey through cancer.
