Cardinals Announce Details for 2022 Hall of Fame Weekend

Matt Holliday, Julian Javier & Charles Comiskey To Be Enshrined on Saturday, August 27

ST. LOUIS, Mo., August 19, 2022 – The St. Louis Cardinals today announced details surrounding the 2022 Cardinals Hall of Fame Weekend presented by Edward Jones on August 26-28. The weekend will be highlighted by the eighth annual Cardinals Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony of Matt Holliday, Julian Javier, and the late Charles Comiskey, scheduled to take place at 3:00 PM CT on Saturday, August 27.

Over a dozen Cardinals Hall of Famers are scheduled to take part in the Induction Ceremony including Ozzie Smith, Whitey Herzog, Ted Simmons, Willie McGee, Mike Shannon, Tim McCarver, Mark McGwire, Jim Edmonds, Chris Carpenter, Scott Rolen, Vince Coleman, John Tudor, and Tom Herr.

For the second consecutive year, the Induction Ceremony will be held outdoors on the Busch II Infield Stage in Together Credit Union Plaza at Ballpark Village. The Cardinals Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is free and open to public. No lawn chairs will be permitted on the plaza grounds.

The Cardinals Hall of Fame and Museum will feature a variety of programming on Friday and Saturday, including a special Artifact Spotlight presentation and Flashback Friday conversation with new inductees Matt Holliday and Julian Javier hosted by Tom Ackerman in the Together Credit Union Plaza on Friday evening beginning at 5:20 PM.

In addition to those events, the organization will also honor and celebrate our Cardinals Hall of Fame members with gate giveaways on all three dates, the Maryville University Walk of Fame plaque presentation on Friday, August 26 at 6:30 PM, the Cardinals Hall of Fame Red Jacket Parade following Saturday’s Induction Ceremony and a special pregame ceremony on Saturday, August 27, beginning at 6:00 PM.

  • 5:20 PM — Artifact Spotlight featuring 2022 Cardinals Hall of Fame inductee artifacts (Together Credit Union Plaza)
  • 5:45 PM — Flashback Friday with Matt Holliday & Julián Javier (Together Credit Union Plaza)

  • 11:00 AM — Ballpark Village opens
  • 3:00 PM — 2022 Cardinals Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony presented by Edward Jones (Together Credit Union Plaza)
  • 3:45 PM — Cardinals Hall of Fame Red Jacket Parade (Together Credit Union Plaza)
