AZU YECHE Shares ‘Plastic Life’

Azu Yeché kicks off a promising 2022 with his first single of the year, the rousing and introspective Plastic Life (rel 29.04.22 via Farmhouse Records).

Listen to ‘Plastic Life’ here

Plastic Life, combines elements from Soul greats (Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Al Green) with subtle folk and African music. The result, produced by Boe Weaver (Rhys Lewis, Jalen N’gonda, Lauren Hibberd), is a light hearted yet introspective soul track that is distinctively his.

Azu expands on this: “’Plastic Life was written out of a need to have an honest conversation without fear. It starts out a bit scared to confront the situation but progressively gets more assertive and clear. I really loved recording this song with Boe Weaver and they helped me capture that raw, organic, live sound that marries soul, gospel and blues’”.

Azu Yeché is an act whose true magic lies in a live setting and from his recent sold out show at St Pancras Old Church, 2022 is poised to be a year of many great things to come. His distinctive voice as a singer and songwriter has also earned Azu praise and plays on BBC Radio 1, 2 & 6 as well as support slots with platinum UK artists such as Gabrielle and Lemar. His recent covers have also gained considerable traction, most notably, his special cover of Aretha Franklin’s ‘Respect’ which was featured on her official page recently.

“Yeché drops a myriad of lyrical gems for listeners to grow on. His sublime vocal tone is commanding and punches through the mix with a distinct feel.” – EARMILK
