MILWAUKEE, WI, April 3, 2018 – Prior to tonight’s game, the St. Louis Cardinals placed infielder Jedd Gyorko (right hamstring strain) on the 10-day disabled list and recalled outfielder Harrison Bader from Memphis (AAA).
Bader, the Cardinals Minor League Player of the Year in 2017, made his Major League debut last season, appearing in 32 games, hitting three home runs in his first 11 games in the majors.
Bader, 23, posted a .283 batting mark with 20 home runs at Memphis (AAA) last season, starting 111 of his 117 games with the triple-A Redbirds in centerfield.
The right-handed hitting Bader appeared in 21 games this spring, batting .313 (15-for-48) and he finished 2nd on the team with his seven Grapefruit League doubles.
Bader wears uniform no. 48.
