OK – I wanted to do this differently; I had a plan of breaking down every players and giving a much better synopsis with stats. But due to time constraints, here’s a quick and dirty version of my top 50 Cardinal prospects.
I looked at scouting reports, stats, and other lists to create this list; maybe I’ll come back and break down the players more.

The Cardinals system isn’t as deep as it once was; after Alex Reyes, there aren’t many potential elite prospects.
One guy to keep an eye on is Junior Fernandez; the flamethower has gotten off to a good start at Peoria.
I reluctantly put Diaz at 10 after having him closer to 15; I’m still not completely sold on him, but he’s working hard to prove me wrong. Since being removed from the 40-man roster in the middle of last season, he’s done nothing but hit at every stop, including the majors. Unfortunately, that has pushed Greg Garcia to Memphis (since Ruben Tejada is off the DL); Garcia is probably going to have to move to another organization to get a real shot at the MLB level. I still believe that he’ll be a decent regular at short in the long run, but the Cardinals appear to disagree with me.
I’ll be back with some profiles of Cardinal prospects, either here or the Cards Conclave.
