The Mets are still paying for one of their biggest blunders. Probably won’t be seeing a Back to the Future reboot. Legos are fun. So is Bad Lip Reading.

Pay That Man His Money
July 1st has to be former MLB outfielder Bobby Bonilla’s favorite day; it’s pay day. The Mets pay Bonilla $1,193,248.20 every July 1st until 2035. The Mets met with Bonilla after his underwhelming 1999 season; they were not going to retain the slugger, so he negotiated a deal to delay his $5.9M buyout until 2010, and the team would then pay him $1.2M annually until 2035. The Mets saved on 2000’s payroll, but but got suckered into paying him $29.8M.

$1.2M makes Bonilla the 13th highest paid players on the Mets this year. It’s higher than Matt Harvey, Jacob DeGrom, and Zack Wheeler make; heck, it’s more than 2 of the 3’s combined salary.

No Going Back to the Future
In an age where movies of the ’80s are being remade, reimaged, or receiving sequels left and right, there is one movie that won’t be: Back to the Future. Robert Zemeckis said “That can’t happen until both Bob [Gale, series writer] and I are dead. And then I’m sure they’ll do it, unless there’s a way our estates can stop it.”

I would hate to see this be remade. They’d probably replace the DeLorean with a Geo Storm, Michael J. Fox with Asa Butterfield, and make Marty go back to the ’70s. It literally scares me to think of it.

Swimming in Time (and Gold)
I always get amazed when I see fan made lego sets; the time, energy, and imagination to do it are way beyond me. The latest is Scrooge McDuck’s Money Bin.

The 4 foot square building is completely out of Legos, along with everything inside execpt the coins. Remarkable.

Redneck Avengers
