Under the Covers

During the daily grind at work, I usually drown people out that talk too loud on the phone by playing DJ Youtube. The following are some good covers to well known songs that I’ve come across.

MUMFORD & SONS: THE BOXER

Great take on a folk classic. Found on their album Babel, gives a good modern spin on it.

NOUELA and PASSENGER: THE SOUND OF SILENCE

Sticking with the S & G theme, two completely different versions of another folk song. I’ve never heard of Nouela but her slow rendition is almost hypnotic. Passenger’s performance was very unique due to the crowds willingness to grant him complete silence. It really takes off, would have been a great concert to attend.

ROB FALSINI: CHASING CARS

The ability to make people stop what they are doing for just a few moments to take in this cover is what really sets this one apart. Very soulful, well worth the listen.

AARON LEWIS: BLACK

Aaron Lewis. Black. One of the best covers out there, enjoy.
