Chris Towers, a fantasy baseball writer at CBSSports.com and host of the Fantasy Baseball Today podcast joins the Fancestor to discuss his lifelong journey as a Miami Marlins fan. Chris shared his origins as a Marlins fan when the team debuted in 1993, through their World Series wins in 1997 and 2003, and the subsequent team teardowns and ownership revolving door.
Chris and Aaron discussed the challenges of attending games at Joe Robbie Stadium, the tragic death of pitcher Jose Fernandez, and the complex relationship between the team and Miami’s diverse population. Despite multiple fire sales and disappointing seasons, Chris explained he remains a Marlins fan due to his deep love for baseball and the team’s historical significance to his life.
