_“…danceable post-punk urgency. The band’s knack for melody is accentuated by lush
soundscapes.”- _**_Consequence of Sound_**

_“…sounds like a cross between Husker Du’s jangly side and early, shoegazy Britpop…”-_**
_Brooklynvegan_**

**Space Cadet** was formed in 2020 when **Matt Hock** and **Dave Walsh** of **The
Explosion (Virgin, Jade Tree)** wanted to expand their collective sound beyond punk
rock. The following year, they channeled influences of shoegaze, Brit rock, new
wave and punk into their acclaimed debut LP on Wiretap Records, _‘Lion on a Leash.’_

Now two years later, the band has just released _‘Suede Originals,’_ a 4-song EP
and the first release by Brooklyn’s **Miserable Neighbor Records**. The record is
a concentrated dose of driving guitars, big choruses, and insistent hooks. Initially
slated to appear on the next Space Cadet full-length, these songs deserved to stand
on their own.

Space Cadet’s live band has included **The Explosion’s Damian Genuardi** and **Chris
Gonzalez**, as well as **Matt Olsson, Brian Pluta (Left Circles),** **Kaleen Reading(

**More praise for Space Cadet:**
_“Lion On A Leash is a guitar riff-led rock album
in which the pop is fighting to get out… a hurricane caught between 70’s Glam Rock
and 80’s Indie. The biggest compliment that I can give the album is that there’s
nothing around like it at the moment.”- _**_I Don’t Hear A Single_**

_“…almost has a Mission of Burma goes New Wave and straight up rock vibe.”- _**_If
It’s Too Loud_**

_“…hypnotic…the atmosphere is cool, the melodies are catchy, and the vocals sound
great.”- _**_That’s Good Enough For Me_**
