The new album art replaces the original portrait of Wainwright at 25 years old with a current image of the artist at 50. _“Obviously when you turn 50, you are not only looking forward but also back, and it comes in handy that my first album _Rufus Wainwright _came out exactly half a lifetime ago. In Broadway, there is a secret rule that you have to open with a bang and finish with an even bigger bang. Hopefully in 50 years, I will have proven that I did end with an even bigger bang but I think that I did open pretty strong with my first album. So excited also to bring some new material from those sessions to my fans and have all the tracks remastered.” – _**Rufus Wainwright** Rufus Wainwright - April Fools (Official Music Video) [⌊Rufus Wainwright - April Fools (Official Music Video)⌉⌊Rufus Wainwright - April Fools (Official Music Video)⌉ Watch this video on YouTube [**WATCH**](https://reybee.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=f67b4587af2b2ef9aa80ed984&id=421f519d42&e=615f2b8493)**“ APRIL FOOLS”** [**LISTEN**](https://reybee.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=f67b4587af2b2ef9aa80ed984&id=1473db622d&e=615f2b8493)** to**_** RUFUS WAINWRIGHT – 25th Anniversary Edition**_ A critical hit, the album received praise throughout the media following its release in 1998. Salon quipped that the album was one of “foolish love and fantasy love, healing love and destructive love and love that makes you want to lose your sense of self just so you can find it again.” Ann Powers of New York Times placed the album in her Top Five albums of 1998, while Rolling Stone proclaimed him Best New Artist. _Rufus Wainwright_ appeared numerous times in Village Voice’s Pazz & Jop Critics’ Poll of that year. Featuring an impressive array of rock, folk, opera and cabaret that ferries his highly literate lyrics with his soaring, distinctive vocals, _Rufus Wainwright_ was a showcase in artistic expression that paved the way for a career that spans two and a half decades with ten studio albums, two classical operas, and a tribute to Judy Garland. His debut album, however, stands as a grand and majestic entrance for an artist who later garnered two GRAMMY® nominations, a BRIT Award nomination and won two JUNO awards in his home country of Canada. _Rufus Wainwright _was largely produced by **Jon Brion** (_Aimee Mann, Elliott Smith, Fiona Apple_) except for “**In My Arms**” which was produced by **Pierre Marchand**( _Sarah McLachlan, Kate & Anna McGarrigle_), and “**Millbrook**” and “**Baby**” which were produced by Brion and **Van Dyke Parks** (_Beach Boys, U2_).   **RUFUS WAINWRIGHT _RUFUS WAINWRIGHT – 25th Anniversary Edition_ (Geffen/UMe)Release date: May 19, 2023 ![Rufus Wainwright](https://i0.wp.com/mcusercontent.com/f67b4587af2b2ef9aa80ed984/ images/7b7ceae1-f8aa-55f7-ed26-67496958dea5.jpg?resize=450%2C450&ssl=1) **_RUFUS WAINWRIGHT _**_**– 25th Anniversary Edition**_ **Tracklist:** Foolish Love (2023 Remaster)  Danny Boy (2023 Remaster)  [April Fools](https://reybee.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=f67b4587af2b2ef9aa80ed984&id=46240465a5&e=615f2b8493)( 2023 Remaster)  In My Arms (2023 Remaster)  Millbrook (2023 Remaster)  Baby (2023 Remaster)  Beauty Mark (2023 Remaster)  Barcelona (2023 Remaster)  Matinee Idol ( 2023 Remaster)  Damned Ladies (2023 Remaster)  Sally Ann (2023 Remaster)  Imaginary Love (2023 Remaster) Hankering (2023 Remaster) Saint James Infirmary (2023 Remaster) More Wine (Session Outtake) Fame Into Love Into Death (2023 Remaster) One More Chance( 2023 Remaster) A Bit Of You (2023 Remaster) Dreams And Daydreams (2023 Remaster) Miss Otis Regrets (2023 Remaster) So Fine (Session Outtake) Come (Session Outtake) **Social Media: [OFFICIAL](https://reybee.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=f67b4587af2b2ef9aa80ed984&id=84677030e7&e=615f2b8493) | [FACEBOOK](https://reybee.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=f67b4587af2b2ef9aa80ed984&id=5e152e9c26&e=615f2b8493) | [INSTAGRAM](https://reybee.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=f67b4587af2b2ef9aa80ed984&id=24c19c8e7d&e=615f2b8493) | [TWITTER](https://reybee.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=f67b4587af2b2ef9aa80ed984&id=f544362997&e=615f2b8493) | [YOUTUBE](https://reybee.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=f67b4587af2b2ef9aa80ed984&id=c4efb3c143&e=615f2b8493) ### Share this: * [ Facebook ](https://www.nyrdcast.com/rufus-wainwright-celebrates-25th-anniversary-of-self-titled-debut-with-expanded-re-release/?share=facebook) * [ X ](https://www.nyrdcast.com/rufus-wainwright-celebrates-25th-anniversary-of-self-titled-debut-with-expanded-re-release/?share=x) * [ Email ](https://www.nyrdcast.com/rufus-wainwright-celebrates-25th-anniversary-of-self-titled-debut-with-expanded-re-release/?subject=%5BShared%20Post%5D%20RUFUS%20WAINWRIGHT%20Celebrates%2025th%20Anniversary%20Of%20Self-Titled%20Debut%20With%20Expanded%20Re-Release&body=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.nyrdcast.com%2Frufus-wainwright-celebrates-25th-anniversary-of-self-titled-debut-with-expanded-re-release%2F&share=email) * [ LinkedIn ](https://www.nyrdcast.com/rufus-wainwright-celebrates-25th-anniversary-of-self-titled-debut-with-expanded-re-release/?share=linkedin) * [ Mastodon ](https://www.nyrdcast.com/rufus-wainwright-celebrates-25th-anniversary-of-self-titled-debut-with-expanded-re-release/?share=mastodon) * [ Nextdoor ](https://www.nyrdcast.com/rufus-wainwright-celebrates-25th-anniversary-of-self-titled-debut-with-expanded-re-release/?share=nextdoor) * [ Pinterest ](https://www.nyrdcast.com/rufus-wainwright-celebrates-25th-anniversary-of-self-titled-debut-with-expanded-re-release/?share=pinterest) * [ Reddit ](https://www.nyrdcast.com/rufus-wainwright-celebrates-25th-anniversary-of-self-titled-debut-with-expanded-re-release/?share=reddit) * [ Tumblr ](https://www.nyrdcast.com/rufus-wainwright-celebrates-25th-anniversary-of-self-titled-debut-with-expanded-re-release/?share=tumblr) ### Like this: Like Loading… ### _Related_
