A gregarious presence that was known to be larger- than-life in both physical stature and personality, his final and grandest endeavor became his legacy, but it also may have expedited the time he had left. After screening at film festivals such as the **Richmond International Film Festival**, the **Portland Film Festival**, and the **Chagrin Documentary Film Festival**, ‘ How to Throw Your Own Goodbye Party’ is now being viewed worldwide by those who were eager to know what actually happened behind the scenes that first year of Fischel’s haphazard opus: the **Music Tastes Good** festival. This documentary is the directorial debut for **Lauren Coleman** who had the unique vantage point of working for Josh in the very small team responsible for bringing acts like **The Specials, Living Colour** and **De La Soul** to the streets of Long Beach in 2016. ![Screen Shot 2022-06-28 at 10.00.06 AM](https://i0.wp.com/cascade.madmimi.com/promotion_images/ 3244/3705/original/Screen_Shot_2022-06-28_at_10.00.06_AM.png?w=1290&ssl=1) What starts out as a story about a man’s triumphant accomplishment begins to take a turn as the complications of working through the red tape of a city becomes overwhelming and the approach of the festival runs parallel with an unraveling that is both heartbreaking and unnerving, intensified by an urgency that no one could have possibly understood at the time. Despite the struggles and difficulties, it is hard not to walk away from this film feeling hopeful. Josh Fischel was the kind of person who took big swings and inspired those around him to do the same. He took pride in creating experiences that were unforgettable and, with a documentary like this, his legacy will certainly live on. **Watch ‘How to Throw Your Own Goodbye Party’ for FREE now on Vimeo:** [https://vimeo.com/587348268](https://email.cloud.secureclick.net/c/6813?id=8183941.20133.1.f26a54fc94c77737468c321e7ee6d770) **[Facebook](https://email.cloud.secureclick.net/c/6813?id=8183941.20134.1.2e66811a15b52209738db88f61f50a7c) | [Instagram](https://email.cloud.secureclick.net/c/6813?id=8183941.20135.1.1aed64167fb5b1d901bb959e7363935c)** ### Share this: * [ Facebook ](https://www.nyrdcast.com/new-documentary-how-to-throw-your-own-goodbye-party-examines-the-last-years-of-josh-fischel/?share=facebook) * [ X ](https://www.nyrdcast.com/new-documentary-how-to-throw-your-own-goodbye-party-examines-the-last-years-of-josh-fischel/?share=x) * [ Email ](https://www.nyrdcast.com/new-documentary-how-to-throw-your-own-goodbye-party-examines-the-last-years-of-josh-fischel/?subject=%5BShared%20Post%5D%20New%20Documentary%20%27How%20To%20Throw%20Your%20Own%20Goodbye%20Party%27%20Examines%20The%20Last%20Years%20Of%20Josh%20Fischel&body=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.nyrdcast.com%2Fnew-documentary-how-to-throw-your-own-goodbye-party-examines-the-last-years-of-josh-fischel%2F&share=email) * [ LinkedIn ](https://www.nyrdcast.com/new-documentary-how-to-throw-your-own-goodbye-party-examines-the-last-years-of-josh-fischel/?share=linkedin) * [ Mastodon ](https://www.nyrdcast.com/new-documentary-how-to-throw-your-own-goodbye-party-examines-the-last-years-of-josh-fischel/?share=mastodon) * [ Nextdoor ](https://www.nyrdcast.com/new-documentary-how-to-throw-your-own-goodbye-party-examines-the-last-years-of-josh-fischel/?share=nextdoor) * [ Pinterest ](https://www.nyrdcast.com/new-documentary-how-to-throw-your-own-goodbye-party-examines-the-last-years-of-josh-fischel/?share=pinterest) * [ Reddit ](https://www.nyrdcast.com/new-documentary-how-to-throw-your-own-goodbye-party-examines-the-last-years-of-josh-fischel/?share=reddit) * [ Tumblr ](https://www.nyrdcast.com/new-documentary-how-to-throw-your-own-goodbye-party-examines-the-last-years-of-josh-fischel/?share=tumblr) ### Like this: Like Loading… ### _Related_
