return with their new single [“Liquid Whispers,”](https://on.soundcloud.com/ZRQ5xYX29RI7CyTxll)
out April 8 via We’re Trying Records. Rooted in the city’s DIY scene, the band continues
to explore themes of identity, trauma, and resilience through emotionally direct
songwriting.

“Liquid Whispers” reflects on the aftermath of trauma and the ways pain inflicted
by others can turn inward. The song explores feelings of disconnection from one’s
own body, struggles with identity, and the lingering impact of emotional harm that
continues to echo long after it occurs.

At its core, the track captures a breaking point – the moment of confronting that
pain rather than letting it define you.

With “Liquid Whispers,” Washington D.C. emogaze band Muhnday delivers one of their
most emotionally intense and sonically expansive songs to date.

Built around lush, layered guitar textures and vibey atmospheric verses, the track
gradually unfolds into massive, soaring choruses that feel both cathartic and overwhelming.
Heavy guitar distortion, chaotic blast beats, and haunting vocal delivery create
a push and pull between beauty and chaos, reflecting the emotional core of the song.

Lyrically, “Liquid Whispers” explores the complicated aftermath of trauma – specifically
how pain inflicted by others can turn inward. The song reflects on the experience
of feeling disconnected from your own body, struggling with identity, and the ways
trauma can manifest through self-inflicted harm, both physical and mental. It captures
the feeling of living in a body that no longer feels like your own.

But the song ultimately shifts from despair to confrontation. At its core, “Liquid
Whispers” is about reaching the breaking point and refusing to let trauma dictate
who you are any longer. It’s about reclaiming ownership of yourself – your body,
your mind, and your identity – and facing the shadows that once felt impossible
to escape.

Produced, mixed, and mastered by Dave Alcan (Sound Field Studios, Loveletter), the
track showcases Muhnday’s evolving sound: a powerful fusion of shoegaze atmosphere,
post-hardcore intensity, and deeply personal lyricism.

Muhnday is a Heavy Emogaze band from Washington DC, that blends soaring guitars,
crushing dynamics, and emotionally raw songwriting. Rooted in the city’s DIY scene,
the band crafts songs that balance heaviness and vulnerability, while also exploring
themes of identity, trauma, and resilience. Muhnday is back with We’re Trying Records
