LOS ANGELES, CA — Rocketsuit Rogue, the new guitar-driven punk rock band led by RIAA Gold-certified songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist Matty Lewis, returns with “The Best Last Day on Earth,” the latest single from the band’s forthcoming debut album Hello, Apocalypse!, due out August 21 via Double Helix Records and SBAM Records.

Following the release of “Our Last Parade” and “Home Sweet Home (Sweet Misery),” the new track further introduces listeners to Lewis’ ambitious new creative vision—one that pairs soaring hooks, massive choruses, and emotionally charged songwriting with themes inspired by classic science fiction, survival, and the search for meaning in a chaotic world.

At its core, Rocketsuit Rogue is music about perseverance. Drawing inspiration from vintage 1950s sci-fi films and end-of-the-world cinema, Lewis frames deeply human stories against larger-than-life backdrops, transforming personal struggles into something cinematic, relatable, and universal.

“‘The Best Last Day on Earth’ is about finding hope when everything feels uncertain,” says Lewis. “It’s about appreciating the people around you, embracing the moment you’re in, and choosing connection over fear. That idea runs throughout the entire album.”

Produced by acclaimed producer Cameron Webb (Pennywise, Motörhead, NOFX), Hello, Apocalypse! captures a songwriter rediscovering his purpose and creative voice. After earning international recognition as a member of Zebrahead—including an RIAA Gold certification and extensive worldwide touring—Lewis stepped away from the band in 2021. When he returned to songwriting in 2025, he did so with a renewed sense of clarity, resulting in the creation of Rocketsuit Rogue.

Known for his work on stages around the world, Lewis performed more than 900 shows across 26 countries during his time with Zebrahead, building particularly strong audiences throughout Germany, the United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, and the United States. That global experience helped shape Rocketsuit Rogue into a project designed not only for headphones, but for packed clubs, festival stages, and shared experiences between artist and audience.

While Rocketsuit Rogue represents a new beginning, it also serves as a continuation of the qualities that have always defined Lewis as a songwriter: emotional honesty, memorable melodies, and a belief in the power of music to bring people together. The result is a collection of rocket-powered anthems built for uncertain times.
