ZEBRAHEAD Unleash New Single “Smoke Signals From My Couch”

ZEBRAHEAD UNLEASH NEW SINGLE & LYRIC VIDEO “SMOKE SIGNALS FROM MY COUCH” FROM THEIR FORTHCOMING EP O

High-octane ska/skatepunk anthem previews forthcoming EP O

Los Angeles, CA — Southern California genre-blenders zebrahead return at full throttle with their new single and a lyric video, “Smoke Signals From My Couch”. The track serves as the latest preview of their forthcoming EP O, the final installment in a conceptual series that includes III, II, I, and now O, bringing the band’s multi-release arc full circle. Check out the video HERE.

A blistering fusion of ska, punk, and metal, “Smoke Signals From My Couch” delivers breakneck drums, massive hooks, and the band’s signature hybrid of melody and aggression. The track was recorded with producers Kyle Black (State Champs, Pierce The Veil) and Paul Miner (Death By Stereo, New Found Glory), and features a standout horn section from members of Reel Big Fish, Ice Nine Kills, and Goldfinger, featuring Matt Appleton – Tenor Saxophone, John Christianson– Trumpet, and Dan Regan – Trombone.

‘Smoke Signals From My Couch’ is a song about realizing that you don’t need to waste your time on people who don’t understand or support you,” says vocalist/rapper Ali Tabatabaee. He continues, “It’s about being yourself, recognizing your worth, and knowing you don’t need anyone else’s approval to belong.” Drummer Ed Udhus adds, “If you like metal, punk, ska, and getting high on the couch, this is the song for you.

In addition to Tabatabaee and Uhdus, zebrahead is Adrian Estrella (vocals/guitar), Dan Palmer (guitar), and Ben Osmundson (bass). The bandcontinues to evolve while staying rooted in the high-energy sound that built their global fanbase. With decades of relentless touring, the band remains a staple across international festival circuits and sold-out headline runs.

The upcoming EP O captures zebrahead pushing their sonic boundaries further than ever, amplifying their trademark blend of punk velocity, metallic riffing, hip-hop flow, and arena-ready hooks. “This EP feels like we tapped into something new for us,” says Tabatabaee. “Everything just feels bigger—the riffs, the hooks, the verses. We didn’t hold back.

Since their late ’90s emergence, including their major-label debut Waste of Mind and global breakthrough Playmate of the Year zebrahead have sold over three million albums worldwide, earned a Grammy nomination (via a collaboration with Motörhead), and maintained a fierce DIY ethos in recent years. “It’s more fun when there is no boss,” says bassist Ben Osmundson. “That approach has kept the band alive—because why do it if it isn’t fun?

With a new wave of singles and videos leading into O, zebrahead are not revisiting their past—they’re weaponizing it. “We’ve got a new EP locked and loaded,” says Palmer. “It’s got heavy, melodic, shred, and singalongs for days.
