Thirty Something Records has announced the April 10 release of a newly remixed and remastered vinyl edition of Time Spent Driving’s beloved and influential album Just Enough Bright. The reissue revisits a defining release from the band’s catalog, restoring clarity to the original recordings while preserving the emotional weight that has allowed the album to endure for more than two decades.
Tracks 1–10 were originally recorded and produced by J. Robbins at Tiny Telephone Studios in San Francisco in January 2002 and have now been newly remixed by Robbins specifically for this reissue. The album was remastered by Dan Coutant at Sun Room Audio, bringing renewed depth and balance to the record without altering its core character.
The reissue also features a newly recorded 11th track, “What It Should Be Like,” a song written during the original Just Enough Bright sessions but never fully completed at the time. The track was recorded in 2024 at Compound Recording by Olav Tabatabai, completing a long-unfinished chapter from the album’s original era and offering a rare glimpse into the band’s creative process during that period.
Formed in 1998, Time Spent Driving emerged from the San Francisco Bay Area punk and hardcore scene at a moment when their emotive, indie-leaning sound stood apart from regional trends.
Through extensive touring across the U.S. and Europe — more than 150 shows during their initial run — the band built a devoted following, with music released on labels worldwide and featured on national television and video game soundtracks.
In 2025, Time Spent Driving signed with Thirty Something Records to reissue much of their back catalog, with new music slated for release in 2026, marking a renewed chapter for the band.
