It’s been years since I’ve had Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’ from Lagunitas; does it hold up to how I remember?
A Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’
Lagunitas Brewing
IPA – White/Wheat
7.5% ABV/52 IBU
Untappd: 3.78 out of 5
Poured from a 12 oz can; purchased in a 6-pack.
Appearance: Golden and pretty clear; not as transparent as other West Coast IPAs. 2 fingers of head that disappated, but with decent lacing.
Aroma: A mix of malt and hops. A biscuity, caramel note with some fruit and honey mixed in. Very pleasent.
Taste: The piney note is front, with hints of fruity and herbal hops. The wheat body is prevalent. There are also the hints of honey from the aroma. It’s well balanced for how complex all the aspects are.
Mouthfeel: Not an overpowering mouthfeel, and not a ton of bitterness for WC IPA. Again, it’s very well balanced. It hides the alcohol pretty well.
Overall: It’s a well made beer but not one that stands out from other IPAs. It’s something I’d keep picking up because I know it’s enjoyable.
Rating: 3.5 out of 5; just below where I rated it last time (3.75 in 2023). I don’t think it was beer quality, but rather where my pallate has gone since then.
